How we are many things |
| What I am I am a poem Lacking in rhythm Woeful in rhyme Unconvincing in message Yet I will not die unread. I am a painting Ill-drawn Unclear Not easy on the eye Yet I am studied by scholars. I am a mountain Tall and majestic Treacherous A killer Yet drawing many to climb me I am the sea Full of tasty fish and spectacular underwater life A magnet for holidaymakers Bringer of gentle cooling waves And killer tides. I am a joke I make people laugh I cheer them up I light up a room Yet I can be cruel and hurtful. I am a human being Weak and strong Spiteful and kind A success and a failure A contradictory character Yet I am loved as I am. |
