Back and forth
In the problematic days
Of youth -
Bells would sound
Then recess would arrive -
And children would release joyous energy
To the tunes
Of raucous commotion... 

Notable details would set
In motion a stark contrast -
Timeless honors
And superstar distinction.

As everyone mused
Over countless statues...

Built in front of each stadium.

Immortalizing the greatest players
To ever wear a uniform.

And that expressive grin
On those mighty faces...
