To forget is human.

Our thankful light
forgot to shine.
Mindfulness
lost its way.
Faux Pas instead.
Appreciation
took a walk,
closed the door
behind him.
The crude
ill-mannered
rush headlong
to exits
of convenience.

Yet we are
joyful civilized,
gifting sincere
and wrapped
with love.
Ours was simply
forgetfulness…
blank canvas
of the mind.
