On the boat

when soft light begins to glow
and cool breezes banish woes

as the tide returns to roar
and pink wavers across the oars

I'll snuggle to your warmth
before we wake up to go forth

leave behind the tolling buoy
and shake off this ennui

return to civilization
work's daily aggravations

renewed by sun and water
hoping for a daughter
