frolicking without a care
in a pile of leaves.

Beach bonfire crackles
as folks sing hearty "Farewell!"
to scorching summer.

A gaggle of geese
begin yearly migration
with raucous goodbye.

Voices of autumn
speak of transition coming
across the landscape.
