Avoid Jail Time: Murders and Carjackings

The breach in public faith and trust must be acknowledged and fixed - a prose poem.

A murderous rampage targets
Hundreds of fearful and stressed communities;
On a dramatically pronounced
And incalculable scale,
The newly commonplace policies
Perpetuate an ineffectually lenient
And grossly encouraging gambit
Of heartless laws
Which victimize innocent persons
Seeking relief from the grotesque
Forgiveness of felons, gangs,
And career demons;
Urban animals and thugs
With no capacity to see their wrongful violence
Toward the general public
Perceive the lack of stringency
In placing them in prisons and jails
For the betterment of the average citizen -
And the recidivism of these endless predators
Continue to educate the naive voters
And supposed supporters
Of these staunchly insane efforts
To render our lives relentlessly
And direly in horrible danger -
And can no longer instruct and instill
Patient advisement and adjudication
For these morose mistakes
In governance and taxation
Of our grieving civilization…
