“No artist sees things as they are. If it were so, he would cease to be an artist.” |
| An artist will never fall in love with silly things of fleeting beauty; an artist will not fall in love with the way one styles their hair or applies their makeup. an artist will not fall in love with the clothing one wears or purchases. an artist will not even fall in love with the smoothness of your skin for eventually, it will sag and wrinkle like every aging soul's does. Instead, an artist might fall in love with the freckles dusted across smiling cheeks- or with the way afternoon sunlight glints in curious eyes. An artist may fall in love with the shapes the shadows make as they hug and curl around a figure in the dark. Or maybe with the way one's skin feels against their own- soft and spreading much warmth. And of course, an artist will fall in love with the familiar fingers belonging to the one they love most. The fingers that entwine perfectly with their own. |
