An Alphabestiary (described following the poem) |
| Army ants ate Uncle Joe and Burly bears devoured his wife. Camels stomped on cousin Bob and Dingos want to take my life. Edgy elephant mashed my brother, Frantic fox munched sister Sue. Gross green grubs chewed up my garden, Heinous hornworms ate some, too. Intrepid inchworms chomped the tree leaves. Jackass jaybirds hogged the feeder. Killer kestrel smashed the window, Landing on a lark to eat ‘er. Mangy marten chased the chickens. No more nuthatch, thanks to same. Old opossum dug the lawn up Past the bare spot. (Pug’s to blame). Quirky queen bee stung the scarecrow, Rabid raccoon’s on a tear. See the snake ease up my pantleg, Tracking toad that went up there. Ugly urchins fill the bathtub, Vicious viper bites my thigh. Wicked wombat lunges toward me, Xiphosura crawl (can’t fly). Yellow perch leaps out and bites me. Zebu kicks me, and I die.
