I wrote this poem a few years ago about how my childhood was like. Like it or not,

My childhood

Childhood was the best
Going to school every day
Eager to learn something new
But always too shy to raise my hand
Or say hi to someone

Come back home,
See my brother playing Wii
While I would sit by and play with my monster high dolls

Dad would be working
Sometimes we'd come to see him
He would be so happy
And we would play around in his office

Mom would babysit other kids
Making us spongebob macaroni
Or making sure we were all being nice to each other
And sharing our toys

We'd go to church almost every Sunday
Be bored out of my mind
Tried to pay attention
Or end up falling asleep
My brother fiddled around with one of the Legos he brought
I was just hoping we would get Mcdonald's after

Go to the library
Participate in story times,
Play on the computer
Or rent the Backyardigans

Summer would come,
Riding bikes,
Draw on the driveway with chalk
And try to roller skate

Go to six flags
Always go on the small rides
Too scared to ride the big roller coaster

Then it would be Halloween,
We would dress like our favorite characters
Carve pumpkins into silly faces
Try to get as much candy as we could until our bags were heavy

Christmas would come
We decorate the whole house
Watch cartoon holiday specials
And make cookies with colorful frosting

Everything seemed good
Even when it seemed hard
Memories were made
And love was shared
It was beautiful
