Feeling the presence of her love beside her

Late summer leaves glowed golden green
In the radiance of the sun and the cerulean sky.
Into the coolness of the mountain's arbors I drove,
The waterfalls and small coves calling me.

Suddenly I saw your face, smiling with peace
And I felt you beside me in the passenger seat.
You looked my way and took my hand,
Finally, our souls were at home — together.

We were on a trip in the lush verdant hills,
Loving each other and every mile of the ride.
Hand in hand forever we would be,
Resting in the joy our love now brings.

As quickly as you were there, you left
My seat only home to my bag and tablet.
But one day you will sit beside me again,
holding my hand, never letting me go.
