Doorman

Death

at moment of
"dearly departed",
interrupted by a phone call,
apologizes.
Sorry,
you'll have to wait.

My replacement will be here
in an eternity.
Enjoy your immortality in this
liminal space,
neither here nor there
as we often lamented

about your mental state.
