Docile Wings

Angel of Twenties

There was an Angel of Twenties
In glitter nylon with fake pearls
Lashes like plush mink fur

Night is a tranquil game for her
Laguna blue liquor soothes saliently
Dancefloor beaming with melancholy

Once alone again, the man won't leave
Trapping her without docile wings
Waiting for the faceless barkeep to rescue

Keys meant to free us can't be found
Silken, yet tattered heels dance in tow
Finally, at peace in a moonlit throne
