A Drabble (exactly 100 words) about a tedious task. |
| The world's largest telescope is the M6-B12, commonly called "Galax-enormous." And the job of keeping the lens clean is the most tedious task I've ever undertaken. Much of the time it needs little maintenance, because the sliding cover remains closed. I give it a weekly once-over with a vacuum hose, to clear the spider webs. (They can get through the slightest crack.) But once a month I go through a gallon of window cleaner, and spend several hours wiping it off. And you should see my windows at home. Actually, you can see them, but you can't see through them. |
