Realizing that you wasted so much of your time waiting on someone who didn't deserve it.

Why did I wait for you to reciprocate,
things that were great?
You gave me nothing
but I wished for something
or anything in most cases.
You made me dream of beautiful places,
but I gave you way too many chances.
I held tight,
didn't want you out of my sight,
but then you left for good,
and I felt somewhat better than
I thought I would, in some ways.
I've learned a few things since those past days.
