PPC prompt for 3-2

The temps creep up with promises of Spring,
prompting early budding of choke cherry,
of red bud, and yet, still too cool to enjoy it for long.
Daffodils peek out from beneath the ivy
that has yet to re-green. Cardinals splash
in ice water melt--time for March's bath.
The chairs on the front porch will wait for now,
but soon, soon, the tulips will poke up sleepy heads,
and the last of the snow will fade into memory.
Seasons cycle, each with new possibilities,
new promises of tomorrow.
But for now, first hints make me smile.
