The Riddle Re written

Some animals fight for survival

Inside an old Hay barn
A field mouse explores
cattle sleep silently
while a sheep dog snores.

Nesting in the loft
A barn owl gives a smile
“Oh Little Mouse,
My first meal in a while”

The Owl spreads its wings
The mouse hears the sound
and jumps in fright
As the Owl hits the ground


Says the owl to the mouse
'You will do for my Dinner
So small and petite
You will keep me thinner'

Says the mouse to the owl
'but I am so cute
Let me give you a riddle
it will be a hoot'

Says the owl to the mouse
'I am so wise
I shall figure it out
and you will be my prize.'

Says the mouse to the owl
'If I am in front of you and you are in front of me
But I am not behind you and you are not behind me
where are we?'

Says the owl to the mouse
'Now let me think
This will not take long
I will enjoy you with a hot drink'

Says the fox to them both
what have we got here
Two meals at once
What a cheer

Says the owl to the fox
'You are so sly
Here is a riddle
Please give it a try'

Says the fox to then both
'Be warned, I am clever
I will figure it out
For my best meal ever'

Says the owl to the fox
'If I am in front of you and you are in front of me
But I am not behind you and you are not behind me
where are we?'

Says the fox to them both
'Now let me think
This will not take long
I will enjoy you both, with a hot drink'

Says the farmer to the fox
wearing his wellies
“You keep stealing my stock,
taking food from our bellies”


Says the fox to the farmer
'there's no need to be rash
Here is a riddle
Please give it a bash'

Says the farmer to fox
“I will solve it within a blink
Then celebrate your removal,
with a nice tasty drink”

Says the fox to the farmer
'If I am in front of you and you are in front of me
But I am not behind you and you are not behind me
where are we?'

'Wait!!' says the Owl
Turning her head round
The mouse is gone
and must be found

Says the fox to the Owl
'What a shame
no mouse for a meal
but will eat you, all the same!!'

Says the Owl to the fox
“You cannot cheat,
you have no answer,
and so, no dinner to eat”

Says the fox to the farmer
'Go back to your bed
you have no answer,
In your head’

Says the fox to the owl
'Now fly away
Next time I'll answer
You will then pay!!'

Says the farmer to the fox
'now go ahead and run
next time I see you
will be no fun!!'

Hidden away the mouse giggles
'Those fools kept me amused
How a simple circle
got them confused!!'
