First Person Singular

Alone.

Off by myself for a time,
Blissfully isolated
In my own precious space.

It’s quiet here:
No dialogue, no give, no take;
A welcome silence
Of body, of spirit,
And of mind.

No enforced rules
To restrain or to hold me;
I am free
To go with what flows
And to flow with what goes.

I am naked
Without worry.
Without shame or guilt,
I am gratefully released
From the obligation to please
Or to allure.

It is I, it is me
I am.

By myself for a time
Not lonely at all,
Just alone.
