I've been a professional writer for nearly fifty years. However, it was always on someone else's terms — from Public Television Scripts to speeches to ghosting autobiographies. Now I have the opportunity to do what I set out to do in college: write fiction. At this late date I suppose it's time to find out whether I have anything to say.
