As for origins... born in Uzbekistan to Russian parents, educated in Soviet Union, baptised with gin & tonic in Cambodian jungle, hopelessly in love in Lithuania while withdrawing Soviet troops from East Germany, incorporated into the West in England, and into the East in Japan; now living not so quietly in the quiet Switzerland.
