I write about teaching and learning in the hopes that by sharing my stories of challenges and triumphs, Iwill inspire other teachers to find the joy in teaching even when the obstacles are many. I also like to write poetry. Writing a poem gives me the challenge of using powerful language and few words to tell a story. Mark Twain said, "I didn't have time to write a short letter, so I wrote a long one." In poetry, every word and phrase must be just right, since there is no room for the unneccessary in a short piece.
