Summary of this CDs & Vinyl...
I have admired Kae Tempest since before he became Kae, one of the very best poets I have heard. On the other hand, I find modern rap/hip-hop to be dull, cookie-cutter and often verging on musical theft. The fact Tempest has released an album labelled as 'rap' and yet it is better than anything put out by other rappers shows the sheer power of the words and topics and music here. Tempest has produced an album that does not shy away from anything. This is the best rap album I have heard in the twenty-first century.
This type of CDs & Vinyl is good for...
People who want intelligent and socially aware lyrics. Some topics I know will offend people, but they are offended by whatever they want to be. This album is not for them; this album is for people who like more than moronity in their rap.
I especially liked... | ||
The lyrics. Tempest has always been a poet, and the transition to a rap album is smooth and wonderful.
When I finished n/a this CDs & Vinyl I wanted to...
Just sit back and think about everything I heard.
This CDs & Vinyl made me feel...
Thoughtful. There is a lot here to mentally digest.
I recommend this CDs & Vinyl because...
Intelligent lyrics are all too rare in modern rap. The life story put forth here is something not many of us can relate to, and it is put forth so well.
Further Comments... | ||
Like I said, this is going to offend some. But people offended by words need to look at the world around them, in my opinion. This is an amazing album. My favourite rap album, I reckon.
