Rina is an Orthodox Jew, married with two young children. When her husband proposes a wife swap to perk up their marriage, Rina is compliant. Compliance is something that, on the surface, rules Rina's life. Her inner life, however, is a turmoil of doubts: about her marriage, her faith, as well as the deeper meaning of her life and her place in it.

When her husband blames her for his guilt about the swap, Rina's inner life explodes. No longer willing to be the good, totally compliant wife, she ventures out in ways that will shatter her reality.

This book is about being found, and of profound loss.

Any person who longs to delve into the rich, complex lives of normal people. We all have that inner life. Do we ever come to really know it? Are we ever really known?

This book is chock full of information about how an Orthodox kosher household runs. I learned a lot about the Jewish faith as well, from a woman/wife's point of view.

The main character, Rina, comes to life in rich and sometimes raw detail. I find her fascinating. I want to know more.

Contact the author and suggest she write an addendum, questions for the reader. This would make an EXCELLENT book club read.

I felt for all of the characters. They were lovable and sometimes not, as all good characters are. They were human.

There's so much to delve into here. I really got immersed in the story. HIGH RECOMMEND.
