This book is taut and suspenseful the whole way through. It keeps the reader gripped tightly in its hold. It really is Mark Billingham at his best.

People who like police procedurals and thrillers. Any Tom Thorne will love this book. We see a softer side to Tom at the beginning when he and Louise lose a baby. It's heartbreaking, but beautifully written.

Tom Thorne. This is the eighth book with him as lead detectvive, and I swear they keep getting better!

Read another Tom Thorne. But I try to limit myself to one per year, to make sure they last.

It's a fantastic ride!

It does describe violence to women. So don't read if you're triggered by that. There is also a fair bit of F Bomb dropping, so again, if you don't like that, don't read this.
