Leanne's daddy was the police chief of her small hometown. She's a detective too, living in Dallas, until a tragedy brings her back home.

Caught up in family drama and a less than friendly workplace, she stumbles upon a trail of deaths that have been swept under the rug. When she tries to bring them to light, the current police chief stymies her efforts.

And in the meantime, a man convicted of a crime years ago is suddenly released from prison. And all hell breaks loose.

I'm a lover of a good police story. Especially when the author drops clues at the appropriate times.

The main character is not perfect. She's got issues.

My least favorite part of any mystery is when the whodunit turns out to be someone never heard from in the entire story.

Is extremely prolific. I'll check something else of hers out to see if it's similar.

It's an interesting tale.
