This blog keeps me in touch with WDC. Jamesdillingham.com keeps me in touch elsewhere.
I like to stay in touch with WDC, even when I'm not contributing on a daily basis. My main blog is at jamesdillingham.blogspot.com

They are:

I'm still here, although a bit outside of WDC as I continue to give my novel priority. I have been posting chapters under Artifact Man. Chapter 19 is due to be posted today.

I am also blogging A LOT. I just went to a high school reunion and was surprised by how many people read my blog.

fun.

I have always been interested in the nature of life. Why are we here and How are we here.

I've read some Edgar Cayce and such in search of answers. I've actually had a few experiences myself. However, none of this fits into my calculator. That is to say, I can't hold onto the Unknown and simple Know It.

One theme that I've come across several times is that "Everything that can happen, has happened and is happening right now." To me, this is interesting and somehow important. It is also very hard to imagine. How can that be?

Now, I am reading The Hidden Reality by Brian Greene. He is a physicist that has an easy way to explain complex issues. He wrote the Elegant Universe.

Anyway...

Physicists believe that if the universe is infinite, then a copy of us, as well and nearby copies of us exist elsewhere. Before you discount such an idea, read the book. The very compelling argument is in the first 55 pages. In other words, everything that can happen is happening and it is happening right now; just not right here.

To me, this is fascinating. Before, I'd tried to imagine this all happing as if all the permutations were layered on top of me. Not it looks like that may not be the case.

Now the question becomes, "Is there a bridge between these copies (or near copies) and if so, why?"

I just wanted to get these ideas down in one place so I can look back on it.

I'm back in Budapest. Nothing to do for two weeks other than work on my novel.

Let's see what happens.

I just renewed my WDC for another year.

When I first started, I was hesitant to even sign up for a free membership. By the time the first year ended, I quickly paid for the next. I've done it that way ever since. This is the best money I have ever spent. There is no close second place.

Stats: I now have over 450 items in my portfolio. My stories have been read more than 32,000 times. Additionally, once I got the writing bug, I started blogging. I have several blogs which have been read a total of more than 10,000 times. As you know, there is nothing better about writing that to have your writing read.

Having said that, I must mention that getting to know people and making friends on this site is an especially great benefit that I did not expect.

I'm looking forward to many more years of friendship an writing.

Thanks to everyone for being you.

I have more than 20 websites, most of them blogs about one thing or another. I don't write in all of them regularly; but I do write in at least one a day.

Here is a sample:

Food for the single man: I write simple recipes that work for me http://malefood.blogspot.com
Poetry for men: Poems that rhyme and are about guy stuff http://poetryformen.blogspot.com
Short Stories: I post a daily Flash Fiction written for WDC to increase my web presence http://promptedshortstories.blogspot.com
News and Commentary at "View From the Cheap Seats" (my main site) http://jimdillingham.blogspot.com
Psychic Phenomena at http://acrosstheunknown.blogspot.com
Wrestling videos for high school wrestling programs at http://thewrestlingcoach.blogspot.com
A place to post your gratitude list and more at http://worldgratitudelist.com
My personal site at http://jamesdillingham.com
A look at California's labor laws at http://californialaborlaw.blogspot.com

Some of these get a lot of traffic. View from the Cheap seats has been seen in 50 countries and read over 4,500 times while the labor law has only been read about 50 (although it is a newer site).

I hope to become more active on the Food for the Single Man and Poetry for Men. These are simple and fun to write.

There are many more. Some I've only had one or two entries. I just started Diary of a Road Warrior but have yet to make an entry.

I keep track of all of them daily. It only takes a few minutes - part of my morning routine.

If I could pick one site that I'd like everyone to visit, it would be the World Gratitude List. Seen in over 50 countries with several thousand visitors. I don't do anything with this site other than maintain it. I like to go by every now and then and read other people's lists.

I am in a hotel all day today with nothing to do but write. So, off to breakfast and then my novel Artifact Man (chapters posted in my port.)

I'm starting to post chapters of Artifact Man. This is my soon to be best seller of all time...or maybe not. I may be setting the bar just a little high.

However, I have 20 chapters done aside from some slight editing. So, as I edit a chapter, I post it. One thing that I am being very careful about is sequencing. There are several characters and scenes. I know most are cringing at that but it works for me. However, it's really easy to have a setting take place out of order. So, that is one of the things I'm working on. I also had things happening too fast.

I am posting these chapters with keywords: Supernatural, Sci-fi and Thriller.

By the book's end, the world will be on a new path. I have no idea what that means so I guess I'd better get back to work.

My blog notice keeps bugging me to update my blog...so I update.

Lately, I have switched over to my main novel. I was working on polishing my NaNoWriMo Sci-Fi novel but it kept feeling like it was shallow or something like that. I'm not sure but it wasn't satisfying to work on.

So, I switched over to my main novel, the one I joined WDC to write. I have about 48,000 words done and all I'm doing right now is editing so that I can remember what all when on before I start adding more chapters.

This is a very good novel.

What's even more important, I'm having fun working on it.

So, here is my theory.

Emotions are your soul's way of guiding you.

Right now, it's telling me to work on the main novel - Artifact Man.

So there, my blog will not bug me for updates for another week.

I just published another collection on Kindle called Two Minute Tales (should be up sometime today). This is a collection of 75 stories from Daily Flash Fiction Challenge.

It's published under my pen name Hyperiongate.

I am not trying to make money as much as learn from the experience. This one has a different cover and a different introduction. So, let's see how those things impact sales.

In Budapest for one more day.

My days consist of working on my main job (shift-work.com) and playing with my startup (onepagewebbies.com) and working on my novel.

My plan remains unchanged. By the end of March, I will have my Sci-fi novel done. I will use it to practice self publishing (using a professional editor etc.). I then go to work finishing my main novel.

Back to writing.
