Final: "A Storm Approaches"  poplist tHiNg V Batman Chiana The Dyslexic Delivery Man Axl Mr. Bones Houdini scurries up to the terminal. "Hope I'm not too late," she asks V while readjusting her top hot and disentangling her cape from around her feet. "You're fine," said V "We're actually still waiting on a few guests to arrive. I think this is them pulling up now." A sleek black limousine pulls up to the station gate and expels a well dressed chauffeur. The driver opens the back door and out comes Jeff Justus in a tailored tux. "Where is his bat suit?" asks Chiana perplexed. Not that I am complaining, that suit sexes suits him frell." "O I'm sure he'll change once he gets settled. Probably came straight here from work." said V as she began to wave trying to get Jeff's attention. Jeff was preoccupied however with something still in the car. He reaches back in and pulls out a hand quickly followed by a silver stiletto clad foot. Half a beat later Faith Fairchild is standing next to Jeff and gazing judgmentally at the train station and it's inhabitants. Her sight lands on the party attendees briefly. A small smirk claims her lips, she claims Jeff's elbow and sashays into the train terminal. The wind whips her long billowy silver night dress behind her, partially obscuring the chauffeur's vision as he blindly maneuvers a mound of trunks after his charges. "Why the hlel do thye need so mcuh lugggae?!" Cries The Dyslexic Delivery Man . "Well, that Batman costume is bound to be pretty cumbersome," says V, none too convincingly. "And the other five cases?" wonders tHiNg aloud. Nobody has time to speculate further as the dazzling couple approaches. Faith walks straight up to V and is the first to speak. "Brooke, it's so nice to see you!" Faith exclaims in overstated excitement. The two women clasp upper arms and smack air kisses feet away from either of their cheeks. "Yes, Faith glad you could make it." Brooke says with a small smile. "O me too. I almost didn't you know. I am just so busy making appearances everywhere. Plus I have a couple of side ventures I am looking at. Have you heard my new single Don't Be Early for the Party? It's a huge hit on iTunes I just know you're going to play it on the train aren't you?" "Uh, maybe," stammers Brooke a bit taken aback. She turns to greet Jeff but Faith jerks him aside. "Anywho, we don't want to be rude. I'm sure you were only waiting for us to arrive before leaving. Alfred, Brooke -- What are you dressed as? A bee? Why all the black then? -- This lady will show you where to put our things. We'll be inside mingling." "Very good ma'am." Alfred the chauffeur responded to Faith and Jeff's retreating backs as the couple walked away without so much as a glance for the other patrons left gaping after them. ------------------------------ Inside the train Faith began eyeing the guests, automatically listing them in order of importance, mentally deciding who would be worth talking to and for how long. "That was awfully rude Faith," says Jeff, sternly shaking his arm out of her grip. She turns wide eyes on him. "What? I was nothing but polite to Brooke and I practically ran onto this party train of hers to make up for our lateness. I'd say I was a model guest. Besides what do you care? All you need to do is keep playing the part of my adoring escort and all will stay right in your little world. Is that, Bruce Willis!? Quick, how does my hair look? You stay here, I think I should handle this introduction, solo.  |

| SPOILER ALERT I just finished (except for the Epilogue, I will finish that tomorrow) the third book in the Divergent series, Allegiant. As an avid reader of todays young adult fiction literature, I was pleasantly shocked with the author's decision to off the major character. I mean, wow. Bold and beautiful. I loved Tobias/Four's decision to off his mother the chance and she took him up on it withOUT erasing anything. I loved how she touched on insanity and how it can not be fixed with hope and positive thinking. True evil probably cannot even be fixed with memory serum..... See also: http://www.bubblews.com/news/5631760-allegiant-sacrifice I hope Peter truly changes, perhaps his parents and other factors 'nurtured' him to be evil, but I highly doubt it. Evil like that is fairly incarnate/innate. I love how Tris was able to see the fear in her brother's eyes. For her sake I pray he makes something of himself in this lengthy epilogue. I love the end message. I was slightly disappointed in the beginning because of all the recurring themes...but I get why this series has been overshadowed by the Hunger Games. The message is less flashy but much more impactful. Powerful stuff.... |

Walker understands sexuality and sexual orientation as a spectrum of possibilities rather than as two, polar-opposite choices. Thus, like race, sexuality can be difficult to define, and more complex than the simple dichotomy of heterosexuality and homosexuality. Celie’s feelings toward Shug are sexual, but they are also based on friendship, gratitude, camaraderie, and admiration. Watched it twice in two days, love it. Funny how age changes/adds things to your perception. There are no notable examples of reconciliation that come about due to characters who truly bridge differences with one another. Celie, for instance, reconciles with Mr. ______ not because she grows to understand his different ways, but because her influence transforms Mr. ______ into someone who shares her interests and values. Neither Celie nor Mr. ______ truly bridge any difference, as Mr. ______ has transformed himself so drastically that there is no longer any difference between them left to bridge. Though Walker’s view may seem somewhat pessimistic, it is important to remember that, above all, The Color Purple is a story of successful transformation. Though some differences and conflicts remain unresolved at the novel’s conclusion, we have seen the remarkable transformation of an impoverished, abused woman of color into a successful, propertied entrepreneur who delights in her own sexuality and is enmeshed in a supportive, -loving community. Book idea: The Color Blue - based on my life, middle girl child, older adopted sister/cousin, younger brother quiet, obedient, learns manipulation by simply doing whatever her parents want, rebels in passive ways (bad at chores/dishes), treated like servant at her dad's after divorce younger sister, love child of fathers youngest sister, child of his next marriage evil final wife since twelve she dreams of her real father meets real father as jr./sr. in college; neither mom/dad want her to go "White girls have Jane Eyre, I got Alice Walker." |
| I cannot believe it's been almost a month since I have written. This move/real-life is seriously cutting into my WDC time. I missed 10 days of Christmas in July :'( *sigh* se la vie.... Need to stay busy on bubblews too, one day that site's gonna pay for my Premium upgrade. I also want to keep my raffle going on the monthly basis until I hit my goal. Should open that up for August. Ok, off to update a few pieces. It is my goal to have more original work to display. |
| Dear Kettering Rec Center, Your website says you are open to the public. Your website does not specify what ‘public’ means. Public could mean anything Your website does not say that only Ohio people may visit. My friend and her Aunt and Mother WHO LIVE IN DAYTON were told they had to produce paperwork proving their address was in Kettering. Last I checked this was not a requirement for EVERYONE wishing to use the park. The only difference between my friend and myself vs. EVERYONE else is the color of our skin. I have been stopped twice in kettering and each time it was b/c I had a black passenger. I am a college educated black woman with a B.S. in Technical Communications from a private Christian University, I do not take playing the race card lightly. I am not a fool, nor will I continue to support a city that treats me as such. |
| 5 What was the most important thing that happened yesterday? I had a bad morning, meaning whatever is going on behind the scene of my eyes had me feeling depressed for no noticable reason. Only thing I know was that I did not feel like going out to my Aunts for the fourth. I just didn't want to move around a lot or do anything....crazy right? No, just text book depression. I was afraid that I wouldn't enjoy myself, thus disappointing my mom. Turns out, at soon as we got there I was fine and relaxed.
