A blog about my daily life. Just random and sometimes weird. :)
Welcome to my blog. I hope you enjoy my entries. I post about life, my thoughts of the day and anything about my baby, recipes, and of course my occasional random weirdness. Enjoy! :)
|Hi my friends,
I've been busy the last few days having family time. My mom stayed over and we had loads of fun spending time with Josie. 👶 Oh and I just remembered something I must share. Josie had her first food today!! She had some baby cereal and it went great, half of it went on her, but it was a successful first feeding of something other than milk. 😊
In other news, I cheated on my diet, I had a piece of cake, oopsie 😂. But Oh my was it delicious. I promise no cake tomorrow and still sticking with my workout videos. My tummy is shrinking with all of those crunches if been doing. Just a bit of a treat, but I haven't lost my motivation or willpower.
☕Also for those that are also coffee lovers. Have you ever tried making good old fashioned coffee on the stove? And I don't mean one of those fancy stove top espresso makers. I mean in a pot. I made some coffee this way and it was quite strong and tasty. All you do it put coffee grounds and water in the pot and when it boils put a cover over it and take it off the heat, I usually wait about 10 minutes letting the steam finish the job. Run coffee through a seiv into your fav cup and add what you like to it. I like a little nutmeg and cinnamon in mine with some milk and splenda, yumm.
That's all for now my dears.
Have a smiley day!
Good morning my lovely friends. I just wanted to share this mobile I made for Josie. She absolutely loves it and stares up at the butterflies smiling and giggling at them. Mobiles are expensive and I thought why not just make one, so $7 at the dollar store and a glue gun later this is what I came up with. It's quite simple to make.
Prompt from my group Blog City: Do you think people are aware of their own emotional needs and habits all the time? What about artists and writers? Are they more aware than other people?
I would say from experience that people are NOT always aware of their emotional needs and habits, I mean some people will do things uncharacteristic just for attention and not even be able to answer why they did it, sure some will know why and just don't want to admit it, but then there are others who don't know and can't explain it. Hmm.. maybe acting on feelings their having subconsciously?
Artists and writers? I wouldn't say they are any more aware than others, because there's many people that are aware of many things that haven't ever picked up a pen or paint brush, but we are definitely more in tune with our feelings as we know better how to express them than a majority of people.
Mmmm delicious! I just made some espresso on the stove. One of my favorite things to enjoy in the morning once in a while. I think I could be a good coffee connoisseur'. :D
So, I'm trying to think of what to work on today and I think I have a great idea for that WDC character contest so I think I may join the contest for fun. I like the prompt for sure. A character making a hard choice for the greater good. I really love contests, I think they're so much fun and a great way to force yourself to do something new and think outside the box. ;)
Well, bye for now and don't forget to smile today, life is beautiful!

|Hello my dear WDCers,
Today is one of those days. I'm so tired and when I tried to take a nap, I couldn't sleep. Coffee did nothing. Lots of water did nothing. I want to write something amazing and all I can think about is how tired I am. :D
I then feel bad along with being tired. I know I need to review some of my friends because it's been a couple days. I try to read something and my eyes hurt looking at the screen. So 3 coffees, 2 teas, and hours later here I am, still tired.
I feel like I didn't accomplish much today and then I think of how we all need to refresh once and a while and I've been staying up very late writing and reading every night. WDC can be rather addicting. So on that note, stay healthy and make sure you get enough Z's. WDC will still be here tomorrow. :)
Good afternoon my friends,
Honestly I don’t know where the day went. I had my morning coffee, I’ve been working on my book and taking care of my not so happy teething baby girl and then all of a sudden it’s 6:00 p.m.
Now Josie is happy and having some mommy cuddles whilst I write and we’re listening to some classical music (Josie’s favorite).
Josie is at the stage where she really wants to move around crawl/walk and she is upset that she can’t yet do that. So, we got her a new bouncer the other day and I was so excited to put it together for her thinking about how much she’ll love it and then, sadly she wasn’t tall enough for her feet to reach the floor in it yet, she can only get her tippy toes to the floor if she really stretches. Hopefully in another month she’ll be able to use it. 😊
I decided to try making my own double brew iced coffee today at home and it turned out quite yummy! All you do is run your coffee through like normal and then let it cool, run that coffee through again using the same grounds and voila, add it to some ice with your fav’ cream and you’ve got yourself a double brew iced coffee. Cheers!
That’s all for now.

Hello my dear friends!
Yesterday was loads of fun at the Italian Festival. Upon arrival we could hear the beautiful music coming from the stage and there were large white tents set up with all kinds of goodies and rows of seats filled with people watching and cheering for the show.
There was a lot of couples there dancing and enjoying the event, the women wearing nice silk Italian skirts with sequence gleaming in the light as they twirled around. There was also great puppetry for the kiddos, even Elsa from “Frozen” was there. It was great for Josie, she seemed to enjoy the music most of all. It was very nice for my mom to treat us all to lunch.
|Today was a busy day. I took Josie to see her Nana and we had a family day and went out to eat. It's amazing how Josie always wants to eat when we eat, even if I just fed her before we got to the restaurant. My theory is that she can smell all the yummy food and it makes her hungry again. :)
I'm super excited about tomorrow! I cannot wait to go to the Italian Festival and taste all the yummy dishes, hear all of the beautiful music, and see all of the goodies being sold; especially the handmade items. Most of all I love doing these things with Josie. She is only 4 months old, today and she's seen so much already. She is just all giggles lately and loves meeting people.
I also worked on my book today. It feels so good to write my own book and it's a huge goal of mine to have a book published. I've had poetry published, but this will be my first book I've ever written and if it doesn't get published I'll write another one and keep trying. I've never been one to give up on anything. It makes me think of "Anne of Green Gables" and how she didn't give up on her dream.
My Leslie Sansone workout has been going very well, the baby weight is still coming off (at a healthy pace). My friend thinks she wants to start those videos, they are so much fun and easy to follow along. I'm just not a fan of large groups so I enjoy the workout video way more than the gym.
That's it for tonight, goodnight my friends! :)
I can't believe how blessed I am. I wake up to this adorable face every day.
Josie loves our morning greetings, she usually always gives me a big ol smile when she wakes up, she's happy to see mommy!
This weekend she will get to experience the Italian Festival. I think it's great, even at her age to experience different places and activities so we're always checking to see what's in town.
Luckily we are in portland so there's always a lot going on.
Josie turns 4 months old this Friday. I can start introducing her to food, but I've decided from the research I've done that I think it's best to wait until she's double her birth weight. We're not in a rush. :)
I ran out of coffee, but I don't want to go to the store. I'm not necessarily lazy, but I haven't had my morning coffee so I don't feel like going anywhere. :D
I have decided to take my lemongrass and make some tea. That should give me a little boost of energy and my workout and copius amounts of water I'll be drinking will too. I'm just not and never have been one of those people that wakes up with natural energy. My fibromyalgia makes sure of that. But, I do what I can to get going for the day.
Does anyone have any good ideas on what else gives natural energy?
|Good afternoon my friends. Today was a pretty awesome day. I've been trying out these workout videos for the past couple weeks called Walk it off in 30 days by Leslie Sansone and I must say I'm thrilled with the results so far. I've already lost 11 lbs! This workout is perfect for me because I can do it at home with my baby next to me, she gives me some odd looks like "what in the world are you doing mommy", but then she imitates me and starts kicking her feet. Its also great because I can stop and tend to Josie if I need to. Also, I'm not really eating much different either which is great because I love to cook and eat. All of my motivation comes from my daughter. I think it's important to stay healthy for her.
|Good morning my friends. I had my coffee and then went to get some groceries. You wouldn't believe what happened! So, we get to the checkout line and the cashier is ringing up everything and the meat won't ring up. She tried about five times and then she looks at her phone to call someone over and stops midway and realizes it's not working today, so she's talking about how the meats not ringing up right today and continues going through the same steps again. I then make a joke and told her "it's free today". She then told us "that's right it's free today" and takes it off the total since it kept coming up wrong. So we got fifty dollars of groceries for twenty dollars. Pretty sweet deal. What a great way to start the day. I don't know if you know this, but meat tastes better when it's free. :D
