My writing blog
I don't have a muse, and never have. I'm afraid that if I did have one, she would be a small Chinese woman standing in the doorway, looking significantly at her watch every minute or so while I dug around in the sofa searching for enough loose change to pay for the chicken-fried rice. On the whole, I think I do better without her.

My first review in a long while on My Comfy Chair blog, but I plan to review more there this year. I got discouraged before because every book I was getting was for young adults, and I really want to concentrate more on middle grade and tweens. Thus, my first review is of a wonderful middle grade fairy tale retelling (3rd-7th grade, they say):

I am faced with a dilemma. I used to use Duotrope when they were free. I submitted hundreds of times, and got many, many stories and poems published, and a lot of them I found through Duotrope.

Then I stopped submitting (and slowed way down writing), and somewhat coincidentally, Duotrope started charging $5/month.

Now, I've been writing more. I'm starting to get a little bit of an urge to submit more. I signed up for the free one week trial on Duotrope, and it still looks very handy, but in a few days, I'm going to have to fish or cut bait. If I pay for it, it will drive me to submit more, but I may feel pushed rather than inspired. I can afford the $5, but should I?

Having trouble deciding.

Slowly growing the new StoryTime channel on Youtube  . Why not stop by and subscribe, and then you can be notified when a new story appears? (Don't worry, while I'd love it to be every week, it is more like once or twice a month.)

Putting together my home video studio (aka, the other side of my home office) and contemplating the Abeness of Judd Falcoln. A writer's/videographer's life is never dull. Read more about the excitement on my writing blog at Ye Olde Video Recording Studio and Abe in Space

Hard-boiled detective? Frisky zombie? Hungry house? They're all in Savage Fire. Get sixteen great stories for your Kindle, Nook or PC for only $0.99. Five 5-star reviews and one 4-star on Amazon. Take a chance.

My short story collection, Savage Fire, is available as an ebook on Amazon (for Kindle)  , on Barnes&Noble (for Nook)   and on Smashwords (for various digital formats)  . It is a mix of horror, humor, bizarro and even a few naughty bits. On WDC it would be listed as 18+.

The price is only $0.99 everywhere, and I hope you'll give it a try.
