A blog, generally about music, usually for projects hosted by Jeff. I may also write about the 48-Hour Media Prompt Challenge if I don't feel like writing a story or poem inspired by the given song. Other bits of poetry or different topics of discussion might end up here as well.
I'm 71 (and still going strong, I might add). But in one phase of my life, I spent 13 years in the Army. One thing I learned from those years that I always remember is "Rest is a weapon."
I try and remember that doing nothing IS something. Don't underestimate to power a little rest will have on you. I'm glad you have some downtime.
I recently bought an iPad (used or refurbished or maybe, broken in?) and it'a been very helpful in designing crochet patterns and using as a Kindle, but I still prefer the old destop for writing - even though I am on a laptop right now. I never knew I needed an iPad, but I definitely do now.
It's nice that you have found your niche, a place to call your online home. WDC is good at spurring us to write more than we thought we could. Congratulations on your achievements!
I sit in silence. I rarely have music in the background... almost never at home. I don't listen to the radio... except last night. A friend hosts a show on KSVR out of Washington state. I listened on Radio.Garden. She chose some songs well-known in English... but sung in French. I really enjoyed that.
This. This is exactly why I'm pro-AI. Of course it's foolish to post a generated story as your own, or even a generated section. But the suggestions the AI made sound like a brainstorming idea I'll have with a couple writer friends in real life. If we get stumped, we'll throw ideas about the story at each other. AI can be an excellent tool if used properly. Lately I've been using AI to help me make dinner. I tell it the ingredients I have on hand, it will suggest certain dishes... if it suggests something I don't have an ingredient for, I'll say so, and it will recommend substitutions based on what I do have. And I have making some great food with its assistance lol
I have no secular point of view on this subject. I love you used the reference from Ephesians. I am learning to enjoy other people's gardens or just what was left the way God planted it in the first place. What I do know is I love the way you write. I can read your words any time any where with smiles, tears, laughter and joy. You have a beautiful soul!
Personally speaking, I do not believe in the popular conception of alien life. Though angels, cherubim and seraphim seem like a different kind of alien. No one saw a flying saucer before the age of Sci Fi, before that it was all about angels, demons and ghosts... Scientifically speaking you mentioned a whole bunch of God incidences which make a possible context for life on this planet but then so also the Drake equation ( counting alien civilisations) assumes that the spontaneous emergence of life ( abiogenesis) occurs in nature and without Divine assistance. There is zero evidence for that making the discussion of alien life a theological one. But the bible is silent on this one and our travels so far into space have revealed only magnificent desolation.
A very impressive journey! These kind of prompts are the best way to learn about fellow members.
I love the way you set each bullet in a very visual way. I'm extremely impressed with your 10th bullet. I don't know anyone else with that level of commitment to those contests. Congrats on your successes.
I love how you frame this whole experience 😻! I'm eager to listen to this,as one who has enjoyed most genres. You pulled me into your world and saw and heard through your eyes and ears. Very awesome Angel as usual 😉🦋💖💐🎹🎻🎶🎵.
Write ✍️ on!
It is getting more difficult to know if what someone wrote was really theirs - like with so many things these days there is too often that question of 'true' or 'not true' and that is such a shame - and kind of unnerving. It does cause distrust. I have seen pieces on this site where I wondered, but it can be impossible to prove. I don't know why anyone would want to post AI items here or place them in contests because any success they'd have they'd know is fake, but people can be strange. I'll just stick to my own words, for better or worse.
