I agree, Elle. It would be pretty impossible to make it work on a comprehensive scale. We can, as individuals, reward public reviews, though, and I'm mighty thankful for that.
I've seen lots of long reviews there weren't what I'd consider in-depth. And plenty of short reviews that I would consider in-depth. My definition is more about the, well, depth of thought in the review. It's almost impossible to define in general. But in a reductive example (and I hope you'll forgive me for it being reductive), it can be the difference between saying, "Great main character!" and saying what made the main character great in the reviewer's eyes.
Is a long review by definition an 'in-depth review'? Can a short review be an 'in-depth review'? Can reviewers be trusted to know whether their review fits that description or not? I don't think they can. I think some in-depth reviewers will doubt themselves, and some fluff reviewers will think they're delivering more than they actually are... It's tricky to see how the two kinds of reviews can be sorted in any sort of automatic fashion, and it's way too big a job to be done manually (by someone reading all reviews and designating them as in-depth or not). I don't mean to only offer critique without suggestion, but I can't see a way to make it work.

I've done lots of rhyming projects and some song lyrics, but it always feels slightly contrived to make the words rhyme and fit a line format. I love free verse and am using a lot in my work-in-progress, Willow Tears.
And, do it is what I do when I do it! Appreciate your comment regarding poetry. I have had people ask
me, what type of format was that...I respond that I don't know if it has any, but the words came to me that way!
Many who are not familiar with poetry seem to think it has to rhyme, which we know that is not the case. It is, I believe, a way to clear the mind, the heart; a way to communicate that will, hopefully, out last other mundane communications; leaving one to think and ponder life more.
