Someone or something woke me, again!

I think it is both.

Rambling on in the IM-scroll room; about it being 1.55am, I have a severe case of writer's block, and a short short would be so nice to do now.

Instead, I wait for a game to appear, follow the slow flow of chat, maybe throw in a remark or comment on something.

And think!

Now to think, is a great thing; quick and easy, this thinking thing ... there, a few more thoughts passed by ~ off into the realms of netherland, never to be seen or heard of again.

I could write on the day past, and it would make little sense, unless it was done; well, clear, concise, the why it should be.

Instead - a few cryptic clues again.

Rights:

On a previous blog, a comment about voting was made by me.

In my world, voting has always been a given, to 'yae or nae', not an issue, yet ~ not every one had it.

Politics aside, and giving it some serious thought, sometimes a 'given' is not seen clearly by some.
There I plead guilty.
I am some - I lived under a rock, no - a boulder of what ?
A good word is needed here; thinks, again!

Indifference, nope - stupidity, this covers so much; maybe.
Ignorance, it was not, as reading about all these things is part of every day life.
Lets go with stupidity, being a stubborn ass, sticking my head in the ground as does the ostrich - let this pass me by!

Then someone walked by, and kicked my ass.
Now nobody kicks my donkey, or ass, or whatever one may call it.
It hurts, my ego will not allow this, and I think.

I really should do something about this situation.

Let's procrastinate a while, and think on it, maybe later ...

to be cont. maybe ~

Oh, about the lemonade, when it rains lemonade, some thing is wrong, it may be because the angels found a heap of lemons or ...

Heaven forbid, acid rain.

Listened to an interview on the radio a while back - a writer of some success here in South Africa, spoke on his writing.

Of all things, he writes 'teen-books'; consider - he is well over fifty.
Nothing too strange about it, as he was there once, even if it was a while ago.

He recalls, he was in the world of letters, yet had no aspirations of writing, till he hit the 'nifty fifties'.
Now he turns out a mean volume, with a fair monotony, and is selling well.

Ye of little faith, things do happen - even if it is only read about, or heard on the radio, and even on the tv.
As the goat did, keep on butting, it may just happen ~

I prefer not to use filthy language, swear, curse, utter profanity, or soil my mouth with obscenities.

Every now and then, something happens, where a rather all encompassing 'DAM' slips out.

The time is here, it is here everyday.
My happy-balloon went boom, when it was pricked by a massive needle of real life event.

The water to the farm was cut off. There is no water for the animals to drink.
How ? - some may ask.
Water is supplied because the water to these farms were polluted years ago.

They make movies out of such - maybe I might even get a story for myself.

By the way - this is 'poo-brown !

Politics is not big in my world.
A person cannot live in the natural world, and take politics serious.
It is asked of each person to be involved in the running of the country where they may vote.

Maybe if the choice was not there, it may have been important.
This I cannot answer, as it was always mine, to vote or not, yae or nae, as I saw fit.
Not that I have never voted, for a cause - yae, for a person - nae.

People know little of horses, yet they bet on them, the same with people, they bet on them.
Horse sense is just that, horses do not bet on humans, yet horses will obey.
It makes people not much higher on the scale than horses, people will obey, yet they know better.

I have to wager - on a cause - for a cause - in a cause, a cause of importance in my world.

And on a people ...

Times are tough: I have to cast my vote, make a bet, all on a person who has no horse sense.

When one says - ''you have to ... '' where is the freedom ?

Every human has four endowments - self awareness, conscience, independent will and creative imagination. These give us the ultimate human freedom... The power to choose, to respond, to change. Stephen Covey

(This quote was offered on the IM by Ruwth)

Tools of man, man's thought process - should these not be used, it will mean nothing.

Abused - it can create chaos;
used wisely - greatness could arise;
used well - only good can be;
If taken away - slavery or rebellion will ensue.

Some may know, some may not know - it is said, every seven years we adapt as humans.
It is not on the day, or the hour, it is a change-over.
The change-over is the lump-sum of the previous period's events and influences on the person.

Consider, at age seven, so it is said, a person is formed and will not change much more.
The person will add, subtract, adapt, or discard, as each episode is played.
Thus making the first seven years so very important in a persons life.

Then Fourteen, give or take a year, depending on the natural hormone cycle of the person, life changes like crazy.
Hair, the less said the better - the age of turmoil, moods maybe, the time of the brain, and its awakening.

And so it goes on.

Add another seven days to my tally.
I await the new cycle with curious dread.
So far - so good.
♫♪ --------->
If I only had time
(If I only had time, only time)

(Chorus:)
So much to do
If I only had time, if I only had time
Dreams to pursue
If I only had time, they'd be mine

Time, like the wind,
goes hurrying by, and the hours just fly
There are mountains I'd climb if I only had time

Since I met you I've thought
Life really is too short
Loving you so many things we could make true
A whole century isn't enough to satisfy me

Chorus

Hm hm hm...
If I only had time, only time ♫♪

This song played a little while back, a simple ditty, short and sweet.
Time is always in short supply, so we say, yet we waste lifetimes in not living every moment.

This is the month of plenty for me.
I can reflect back on the year, consider, my new year starts this month.

The year of the CHICKEN, nothing great held out for me. (according to the Chinese calender)

World War 2 came to an end seventy years ago.

All 'cause of my birth - the world gave up, it surrendered, it could not go on any more.
Enough was enough, there I was.

And Hitler bowed out, some one at least noticed.

The past year was a year of plenty off-spring, this is what we live for, the pinnacle of being - children !

and the blessing of seeing them all.

The time of the 'Walkers' - the pigeons are booking in again as losers in the war of Farmers vs Rock Pigeons.
Already quite a few there, even a few doves. Some will possibly fly again, and some will stay on as house-guests. There is still one feral pigeon from last season, as a guest.

A special treat today, as two fish eagles passed over the house, on their way somewhere else.
They spent a fair amount of time circling above us, calling their distinctive call.
"Sorry, no fish today, as a matter of fact, we have hardly any puddles for the frogs."

It was a bad year for frogs.

The rain was never enough to allow the odd earth dams to fill, and the 'marsh' never became a marsh.
This marsh is called a 'vlei', Mahemsvlei; 'Marsh of the Mahem', i.e. Mahem's-marsh.
The Mahem is also called a Grey Crowned Crane.
The last time these cranes were seen here, was back in the 90's when there was flood, well, a flood for this area.

Consider, this area is to be called flat, why, one can see yesterday, today, and tomorrow, all at the same time.

As the marsh is dry, so is the war of the 'WATER'; this matter is dragging on, and on, and on, and --- OKAY, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH ALREADY!

The three, 3, tri, - features strongly everywhere:

Let us see -

There are way too many, let us skip those, and get down to business.

1. The kids bought their first house.
2. Our one home was sold finally this week, that means the fat lady sang ♫♪ $$$ in the bank.
3. The current issue of the water solved when a penny dropped, loud and clear - the law is on our side.

Now for the following three, waits ...

Who said things come in threes ?

The good, the bad, and the ugly, hope not.

Morning - noon - and night. We wait.

Yesterday, today, and tomorrow - time passes by.

We are born, we live, and pass away - that is the cycle of life.

In 1947, Heyerdahl and five fellow adventurers sailed from Peru to the Tuamotus, French Polynesia, in a pae-pae raft they constructed from balsa wood and other native materials, and christened the Kon-Tiki.

We all start our journey at a given date, develop according to set markers - cut teeth at x months; crawl, walk, talk, etc at given times, then we become 'adults'.

Already we differ in certain ways, manners are formed, outlooks set, and a future is seen, all in the distance.

The span of man is said to be threescore and ten. And more is there, if blessings or curse is given, time will tell.

Some say we will plan our way to there, some are sent, and there are those who wait and see what time and tide may bring.

I get a stone, park myself on it, and wait - time will tell, (think about the Thinker), one day - soon - I will get a plan, then life will make sense.

As with many other Biblical phrases, this was picked up by Shakespeare. In Macbeth, 1605, we have:

Threescore and ten I can remember well:
Within the volume of which time I have seen
Hours dreadful and things strange; but this sore night
Hath trifled former knowings.

Words to a song, or at least, part there-off. ♫♪ Both sides now ...

Some one always used to say (my one ex-boss - way back when I had a boss*} he used to say;

"There is three sides to a story, yours - mine - and the truth."

The song rants about two sides, it does not care for 'the truth', such is the way of a relationship.

“But you can't make people listen. They have to come round in their own time, wondering what happened and why the world blew up around them. It can't last.”
― Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451

It is 2:26 AM and not the best time to seek anything, especially not the truth.
As your truth is not mine, and mine is not yours, that is how we see the world:

To each his own - only; at what price sometimes ...

that is a truth ?

The world is going mad, or is it just me ?
There is so much out there, so much to enjoy, and all one reads about is misery -
or should I stop reading the front page and look inside.
there where the pictures are smaller, and more words to listen to ?

A man is known by the company he keeps, and the books he reads.
Now is a good time to start to worry about myself - it may be too late.

World book day.
Went and bought a set of Encyclopaedia Britannica 1970 - 22 volumes and Atlas/Index -
no good reason, it looks nicer than a laptop, and was way cheaper - and there is no excuse why.

And there it rained - man ! was it welcome. Now for a few inches more ...

Having seen the movie NOAH a while back - it was a movie adapted to the new genre of movies 'do not believe all you see, even if it is based on the truth'.

We believe in what we will, we say what we want, we do as we please, then, sometimes we remember - we should keep in mind, we are plural, and it should be I, "can I afford the price ?"

The hobby farm is sold, the only thing is the paper work.
The job ain't done till the paperwork is over and done with

♫♪ $$$$ and the fat lady has to sing ♪ Money .... ♫

Money, money, money

What color is the horse ?

Sometimes things pass by so quickly, before we know it, we are standing at or near the end of a situation.

So was this selling of the hobby farm, and it took way longer than it should have.

Then, as they say; "All's well that ends well."
And we can only hope that it is over and done with, do not need anymore drama with this issue.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch -
The rain is still absent, another week of no rain will see the crops starting to shrivel up and die.
Already the corn crops are showing signs of stress, the color is changing, weaker plants are drying up, and the leaves are spiraling.

Add to the brew, the water war is picking up speed, like a bad tornado showing its turns.

Some one tried to infuse into my mind the following:

"Plan your work; and then work your plan."

Needless to say, I'm still mulling on the true meaning of this gem of wisdom.
(It must have been a gem, as everyone clapped hands, patted the back of the orator, and shook heads in agreement all round.)

It is like the new year's resolution list; if it is written, it is step to commitment already. (no idea who said it?)

Already this year has a hue all of its own.
The general world out there seems to be gearing itself for the 'March of the lemmings'.
Myself - a war all of my own - not all my own, still, it feels like it.
Moving off the hobby farm seems to be final, everything is in order - so it seems ...

There we are - month's end already, what did we miss ?

The internet and computer became a battle due to a lack of service, service in so many forms.
Time will tell if all is fixed and ready for the next eleven months ahead.
YES ! A full month has slipped by without it being noticed - says who (?)
Look at the rings under my eyes, the teeth marks on my nails, and umpteenth cups of coffee later ...

This was the month of Janus, the start off so many battles.
Time will tell ...
