Owls are cool! Mine looked like her head came off her shoulder and rolled around in circle to come back to its normal positioning, but fast. I stood at the window and tried doing the same motion back. I suppose...owl t.v.?
That's cool about how you related what some person said to how that could relate to your character sketches. And I never thought of external things, like an animal, to make characters stand out. I try to make my characters non-normal. I don't like reading stories where the guys are tall and handsome with soulful eyes and women are gorgeous with heaving chests and green eyes—though it's hard not to slip into that when I get lazy. I try to make mine not fit into the norm. One I even had smelling like he hadn't bathed in a week. I got some horribly negative reviews on that one and all I thought was ... good. But I now realize I've still been limiting my characters. I bet there are some really quirky behaviors I could come up with.
Thanks for the insight. And yes, it's a good thing.
We spent a good deal of yesterday fixing sections of our property that had green grass last year, but they got plowed up shoving the enormous amount of snow we got. We had run out of places to put it just as spring decided to make an entrance.
LOL Love your lettle walk with the faries! It reminded me of what you wrote in my special page Mystic made for me: Really, I see you as the Good Witch in the Wizard of Oz, only better. Uhm, Tinker Bell in Peter Pan, no, no, you are better than the Tink. Hannah of the Paper Dolls!
I wrote something similar in "Watching the Eagles Soar": We are in the process of clearing some of the trees, so there are quite a few stumps protruding here and there. The Beatles clamor in and out, reducing them to pulp. Wildflowers grow in abundance from this mulch, and The Honey-Drippers, my pet name for the hummingbirds, zoom in and out. It's all too beautiful, but be careful, the bumblebees love to Sting!
You may not have found Tink, but you'll always have a friend in me. G
I see some rain and snow showers possible on Thursday, but it looks like the temperatures will remain pretty high. I live some twenty miles from Lake Michigan and it does seem to keep things more moderated when not frozen over, I think. I feel for you and your possible snow. Stay warm and safe as you can! Good luck!
Don't know if your area is under a winter storm advisory for Wednesday - Friday, but we are. They have no idea how much snow we're going to get, but said it could be up to a foot and half! Throw in thirty mile an hour winds, and it's a mess on its way! I hope it misses us and you! My sister has to fly out for her cancer treatment on Friday, and it's am hour and a half drive to the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport, so I hope they are wrong.
