I am finding my stride and living life in a world filled with chaos and change.
This is a new sig, gifted to me from Kiya a party gift! from the Summer Potluck Party!

And here's my Simpsonized picture...Just for fun, I've been Simpsonized!

and my daughter, Baba. Isn't she cute? An image of my daughter as a character from the Simpsons

Actually, I need to upload the whole family, just for the heck of it sometime. Then, I'll always have them right here with me. *Smile*

This journal forced itself into being because I loathe, no, I mean, I love to write. It is a struggle to state what I am thinking inside so a daily blog is just what I need. Not because I want to, I must. My thoughts are begging to be heard before they are lost in the caverns of my mind.

This is one of my new sigs. Transported to the days on on the Nile...delicious!

Unbelievable and yet, it is so believable that I have not posted here in seven days. I start good...post a couple of times and then, I hit a slump or rather I don't sit down to write. I'd like to make excuses for myself, and I've delved into this in another post, so I won't be redundant.

All I can say is I'll try better to post. I NEED to write my post early because by the evening...I'm too distracted to stay up to write. *Sleep* Okay, okay...I have a short night clock...I can't stay up to write. My thoughts get too random and it's just not good to put them down.

I'm starting today with my morning post. *Smile* See ya later!

Today's blog prompt asked the question, "What three things would you do if you weren't afraid?" This is another huge question because it's really making us think about ourselves. Ok, before I type any further, I must add that I may knock our in the midst of this writing due to sleep attack. So sorry but thought you'd want to know.*Smile*

there are three things I would never try and they are as follows:

1) I would jump into a leak but I'm afraid I"d drown. Never got around to getting swim lessons so I'd just drown, nothing more to say bout it.

2) I would put a snake around my neck but I"d be afraid someone would agitate it to see what it'd do, and the rest is history.

lastly,

3) Drive a race car 'cause I like to go fast but I'm afraid I'd crash it and blow up, so I'll never take the chance.

Well, I'd better bounce. I am so sleepy tonight...

The prompt for today is an interesting one because it makes you ponder what is most important to you, and if you can grab it quickly in an emergency.

Today's prompt asked us if you had fifteen minutes to evacuate before a hurricane strikes, what 10 things do you grab? I thought about it today, not fair, right, but these are the things I would pick up to take in the case of a hurricane evacuation:

1) My Bible - I'm going to need something to read and to guide me while we go through this disaster.

2) Our family photos - These show us the precious times in our life and are priceless to us. I have to grab them.

3) My laptop - Got to have something to use while we're at the shelter. I'll have to keep my eyes on it if I intend to bring it back home (if our home is still standing).

4) Daughter's stuffed animal, Leopard -

5) Two changes of clothes - Might need to change out of things since we don't know how long we'll be displaced. Just thinking ahead...

6) Underthings - Grandma always said keep a clean pair of drawers on hand...and I mean to listen to her advice! *Smile*

7) Toothpaste and toothbrush - Must keep up good oral hygiene, if not for myself, for those I love and care for.

8) Some gum - That is a good conversation breaker. The gum might go a long way at the shelter.

9) Kindle - I might be able to still read and play games. Not to mention, my daughter will enjoy playing the apps the Kindle holds soooo...

and

10) Any book from my Bill Pronzini collection will do! I think I will be set! *Smile*

Today's blog prompt asked us the following thought: "It's been said that there are three different types of people: those who prefer to make things happen, those who prefer to watch while things are happening, and those who ask, "What just happened?" Which category do you fit into?"

When I read today's blog prompt, I could only smile. Our group leader, Cindy, is challenging us through our prompts to think about ourselves and who we see ourselves to be. I appreciate that.

I did not answer this question quickly as I found myself thinking on it throughout the day. I wanted to answer with the first type, that I was the type that makes things happen and just take the bull by the horns in my life. At one time in my life, for a short time in my day, I was that person.

I am not that type any longer.

I find myself standing off to the side, watching things take place, peering over the walls in my world and I see the action taking place around me. It's where I am today, not the perfect place but I am aware of it. *Smile*

Well, time to snooze. See ya tomorrow.

I think it was three days ago when I got on my blog to tell guys that my husband was taking me to see The Hobbit and I would be back later to tell you ALL about seeing it. Soooo, now it's Tuesday morning, I started on this writing over an hour ago but of course, I took a break to be on Facebook. It's pitiful really, it is. I should say more but this will only become a rant and I won't rant...about myself. It's just not good. I was feeling so good about blogging and I've only blogged consistently the first week or so, I can't recall.

Anyway, I still want to talk about the Hobbit but that will be a different posting. Not this one. This one is too ugly to soil the memory of seeing The Hobbit with blah blah mood.

I really want to do this better, I think I can but there is something missing inside of me to propel me to do it. I don't know what it is. I just thought I should offer some sort of statement for my lack of posts in my blog. Not that it was a good one, or a noble one, but at least, you know I am aware that I suck.

I am so excited...my hubby and I are going to see the Hobbit at the 11:30 showing! *Smile* I loved the Lord of the Rings franchise and think Peter Jackson and company can do it again with this movie. Well, I'll have more to post when I return...toot ta loo!

Well, I stayed away for a few days until I felt like I could post something worth posting again. It feels good to get your thoughts out, and as you can see, I am still not used to doing this. *Blush* Today's prompt bringing up a cherished childhood memory is a comforting one because you are recollecting something familiar and warm, cozy, all full of Mother's kisses and apple pie. No, apple pie is not my favorite memory but it is a good one, no matter the subject. *Bigsmile*

I digress on the pie but a cherished childhood memory of mine is when I was around six years old. My Mom, and my sister and I all would spend our evenings listening to old 45s and doing the bunny hop to them. It's somewhat a faded memory but I do cherish it because I felt so happy...and snuggled even though we didn't have much or people in our lives. We had one another. *Heart*

For today's blog entry, we were to muse over the idea that we could give ANY gift, regardless of availability or expense, it would be be at our disposal to give this gift. It was a toughie again because the most obvious gift to give, in my estimation and right off the top of my noggin, is a sizable monetary gift. However, sizable monetary gifts above a certain dollar amount require taxation, so the gift would incur other costs to the giftee. Not fun. *Sick*

Then, I thought of gifting a place to live. A beautiful one without any need of renovation. That too, requires a tax upon the gift because of the value associated with it. Sigh. But what if I could gift my eldest child, who is the giftee of this fabulous gift, the gift of perfect credit! The kind of credit that would allow him to buy what he wanted, travel where he desired and basically open any door without government taxation.

You caught me in a mood today so this is the gift I'd give if I could gift it...and it's the gift I'd want if someone else could gift it. *Smile*

Well, that's all for today. Thanks for reading.

Whew! Well, this one is going to be a doozy because I can list a whole horse trough of things that I am proud of in my life...this one feels so much freeing than the one that you are most ashamed of. *Blush* I guess that is the way it should be, right? I mean, if you don't have a problem writing about regretful acts, then, well...

Okay, moving on. So, the things I am proud of. I'll start with:

1) I said no to drugs as a teen. (Hey, I know it was a million years ago, but it still is valid!) *Smile*

2) Didn't get into fights. Feel good about that one! *Smile*

3) Married my first and only boyfriend. That was not only a good move but a smart one too!

4) Had two wonderful kids, one boy and one girl, thirteen years apart(she still acts like a twin though!)

5) Was the best in my knowledge of occupational safety when I worked in that field.

6) Finished my bachelors degree and then transitioned into a MPA in government knowledge. I'm not too sure about this one but it is a Masters degree nonetheless.

7) I'm proud that I decided, along with my hubby, to stay home and home school our daughter through the state run home based public school program. It's done wonders for her learning, as well, as my own. It's a win-win for us both.

It's interesting to see how many of the areas I'm most proud of revolve around my family, my home life. That is not the way it was 10 years ago. It is so interesting to see how when you seek to understand what is most important in your life, and you want you life to be full of truth, then it always seems to return to home.

Thanks for reading!

Today's blog asked the question about the one thing in your life you regret most of all, and if you could go back in time to change it, what would you do. Again, this is a toughie for me. I feel like I live with regret more often than not and to fine tune it down to the ONE thing I regret most of all when there are SO many things to regret...
No really, I'm not trying to sound like a sad sack right now. It's just that this one hits close to home for me. Ok, here we go. I regret wasting the first half of my marriage with arguments and fights, that's what I regret. Yes, we are very happy now but the first half was a nightmare for ALL of the wrong reasons. We cannot reclaim that time...ever! The people and the things that were important then are nonexistent now...completely! Yet, like a fool, I insisted on focusing on the negative things in our life, and not working to build on the good.
So, if I could go back in time, I would slap myself and do the right thing. *Smile*
