A place to keep my personal thoughts.
My thoughts, like teardrops, splash onto the page, causing a rippling effect that disturbs the calm and quiet.

What is your favorite holiday and why? What is your least favorite holiday and why?

My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving, because it's a time when my entire family spends the day together, eating, laughing and enjoying each other's company. There is no expectation of gifts, no stress (after the cooking is done), and everyone has the day off work. My least favorite holiday is Halloween. I really have nothing against Halloween, but I can't think of any holiday that I don't really like. I usually forget to buy Halloween candy until the very last minute, so I'll pick Halloween.

What personal quality (e.g. honesty, kindness, faith, loyalty, etc.) do you value more than anything else? If you could guarantee a significant other be completely unfailing in this area, would you put up with serious flaws in other areas (e.g. always kind but lies to spare your feelings, always honest but to the point of unknowingly being hurtful, etc.) to achieve the perfect partner in the area you value most?

I would say that I value loyalty over any other quality. If a person is loyal, then there isn't so much to be dishonest about. And yes, I would be more than willing to put up with serious flaws in order to find someone who is truly loyal. That, to me, is a no brainer.

If someone wanted to really push your buttons, what would they do to provoke you?

Ignore me! That one is easy, because I'm going through it right now. When I am not seeing eye to eye with someone (OK, when I'm ready to rip their hair out) and rather than arguing or making up, they ignore me until they cool off, it drives me crazy. *Angry* OK, this only affects me if I really care about the person. I think I have abandonment issues. *Worry* But I HATE to be ignored.

Take a trip down memory lane (of your web history). What was the last thing you looked up online and why were you looking it up?

Geez, my life is so boring. The last thing I looked up online was the website for WV Public Defender, because I had to submit a voucher for court appointed criminal work I have done (in order to get paid by the State).

Your best friend with the time machine decides to give you another opportunity to try out his invention, and offers you the chance to go back in time and change one single moment/decision in your own life. What moment would you choose, why did you choose it, and what would you do differently?

Again, there are so many! But the one most important thing I would change, and the one thing that would also change a lot of other things I'd like to change, would be going to law school when I first had the opportunity rather than waiting several years and working in the meantime. I know that, if I would have done so, things would likely be so much better for me now!

Your best friend is a brilliant scientist who just invented a time machine. He's given you the opportunity to go back in time and witness (but not interact with) any significant moment/event in history. Which moment/event would you choose to see first-hand and why?

Since I'm strapped for time today and my brain is jelly, this is the only thing that came to mind: I would go back and witness a moment of the Great Depression. I believe it would help me to be more thankful for what I have and not be so critical of the U.S. government. Maybe.

What song do you absolutely hate, and why do you hate it so much?

Although there are several, the first one that comes to mind is "Love Shack" by the B52's. There's really no particular reason I hate it so much. I was just a kid when it came out, and I hated it the first time I heard it, and I hated it a bit more each time I heard it thereafter. And it was way overplayed. I hate the video just as much. Just thinking of that song makes me feel like my ears are going to bleed! *Worry*

What is your learning style? Do you learn and process things best by listening (auditory), watching (visual), or doing (kinesthetic)? Are you strongly one way or a mix of two or even all three? If you are weak at a particular type, how does that affect your everyday life?

I am definitely a mixture of all three. Sometimes, I can listen to something and am able to process it and do whatever is needed. Other times, I can watch something and get the same effect. And often, I can just jump in and do something and learn more than I would have by either listening or watching. I guess it's ultimately according to the project and my comfort level with it.

If you could develop any superpower, what would it be and why? If it came with a significant downside or the inability to fully hone/control it (e.g. telepathy that you couldn't turn off, flying but you'd sometimes float in your sleep, invisibility but you had to concentrate to become visible), would that affect the superpower you'd choose? Would you choose to have none at all?

Oh, wow, another tough one. First of all, if given the opportunity, I would choose to have something. However, the inability to control it would affect the one I choose. For instance, I would not choose telepathy if I couldn't control it, because there are some things that I just wouldn't want to know! And my first choice would be to selectively erase parts of my memory. If I could control which parts I erased, I think that would be the best superpower EVER!

If I couldn't control it, I would choose the ability to fly. I wouldn't mind floating in my sleep. As for invisibility, I'm sure I would freak out if I had trouble becoming visible. *Worry*

Do your friends and family follow your blog? If so, do you tailor your posts accordingly? If not, and you suddenly found out that your friends and family read your blog regularly, would you be okay with it or would it make you nervous? Why?

My friends and family do not follow my blog. If they did, I would likely tailor my posts accordingly, especially when I'm ranting about them. *Laugh* Having friends and family following my blog would make me a bit nervous and more conservative, because, sometimes, I use the blog to vent, and I don't want to have to be concerned about one or some of them taking it out of context and/or becoming angry because of something I've said.
