Olympics

The Olympics, have been going on for 13 days now, how do you feel about the coverage-- the variety of primetime events, the announcers?
[Link To Item #1901904]

I absolutely love the Olympics. My favorite events are figure skating, speed skating and the moguls.

I wonât lie, I keep wishing NBC would lose the Olympics and another station would air them. While I love getting background information on American athletes, I find tha...[Read Full Post]

I'm healing. SLOWLY. Knees and elbows; by Tuesday, my neck and shoulders were sore. Every time I see that video of me flying across the back room, I cringe. It seriously looks like someone picked me up and tossed me like a sack of potatoes. My biggest problem: I'm always on the go doing something, and right now, sitti...[Read Full Post]

Oh, Monday

Man. I was so excited that I only had to write 1,000 words to hit 50k for Nano.

At work, and few customers and I were joking about it being a total Monday. Weird technical glitches, a few other random issues, but nothing major.

Until, my Pepsi rep arrived. I went to the back to see what I needed to order. I grabbed a case that was missing in the cooler. My toe hit a case of smart water on the floor, and I literally went flying through the air, at least 4 feet, crashed...[Read Full Post]

Hell Week

This week has been a roller coaster from hell.

My 22 year old niece has a 6" tumor in her left lung. We were waiting on results from the biopsy she had yesterday, but that wasn't soon enough.

Today she was rushed to the hospital with pericardial effusion. There's an issue with insurance until tomorrow when she will be admitted to ICU from the ER.

We are all reeling, and it sucks being so far away and not being there for everyone.

I&#3...[Read Full Post]

Bard's Hall, June 27, entry 6 - Insurance is a scam

You know, I've always known medical insurance was a scam. But I swear, how insanely big of a racket it is, definitely is eye opening.

For the torn ligament in my finger, I wear two, what they tetm, buddy bands, little velcro straps that keep my pinky and ring finger snug together. I think it's been about eight weeks now.

With the weather hitting 100 degrees lately, the bands get sweaty, and icky, and I hate them! Plus, they get str...[Read Full Post]

The Bard's Hall, June 26- entry 5 - Mini heartattacks

Thursday is garbage night. I gather the garbage, toss it into the bins, and usually drag it to the curb while hubby cuts the lawn.

I admit I was lazy yesterday and took my sweet time.

I finally grabbed the two bags to go out, and out to the garage, opened the side door, pushed the bin from the wall, and flipped the lid back. It's normal, I don't even think about it.

I go back into the garbage, grab the first bag, toss it in, an...[Read Full Post]

The Bard's Hall, June 19 2025,- entry 4 - Waaaay Behind

 And, I'm waaaaayyyy effing behind

I haven't done anything for [Link To Item #2329770] this month. I figured that since I signed up for [Link To Item #2337962] , it would help me catch up at I write. WRONG! I have three short stories started, but they are currently stored on my phone. Helpful!

Physical therapy is kicking my ass. It takes two days for my hand to stop aching like it's sitting in a damn vise. I am making progress...[Read Full Post]

Bard's Hall, June 16, 2025 Entry 3 - Update

 Aaaarrrrrrrggggghhhhhhh.

Needed to get that out of my system

Little Miss Nai is doing well. But, because it's me, and this is the way things go, we have one week left in the incubation period. Incubation? You ask. Yep. My daughter-in-law developed Shingles in the last week of her pregnancy. And, they looked at her rash in the hospital and said it was nothing. By the middle of the week she was a mess, freaking out, and went to her doctor, ...[Read Full Post]

Bard's Hall, June 8, 2025 entry 2 - Induction!

Induction night is here!! We can't wait to meet Miss Nai.

Tonight we are having a "slumber party" with Kaia. That kid cracks me up. We set up my office with her own blow up mattress. She has toys here, but had to bring more, including slime. I hate slime, it's so gross.

The funniest thing is that Kaia hates touching food, but will actively play with slime, while saying, "Teta, oooh gross." And then laughs. She's so r...[Read Full Post]

No Halfway

With a ligament tear at the knuckle of my ring finger of my right hand, typing has become a right pain in my ass. I am trying to be creative, but damn if I don't keep forgetting about the buddy bands strapped to my pinky and ring finger, and just try typing like normal.

I have never been good at halfway, or hunting and pecking. If I thought my finger looked deformed before wearing these things, it looks worse now. There are definitely indentions ...[Read Full Post]
