I pull a card...if it doesn't speak to me...perhaps it was meant for you?
How to Read the Tarot
Begin by brewing a cup of tea,
a nervine, lemon balm or chamomile,
this is after all, your future.
A reading at the dark of the moon is best,
before the night creatures crawl
and bad humours fill the air.
Pick a circular deck, with a fairy-tale motif,
and no reversals.
Hold a question in your heart,
shuffle the cards and place them on the table.
Choose only two.
Like the ancient Israelites,
these are your seer stones, Urim and Thumimm,
black and white, yes or no.
Isn't that all you were asking?
A repetition is calming. The long healing prayer of Baháʼu'lláh, has a meditative quality in much the same way. Must've been nice to fall asleep to the recitation of the rosary.
You wrote and posted... so now I don't have to. I had to look up 'ecclesiarchy' ... probably a more appropriate word than 'theocracy' which is my go-to word. Patriarchy is also appropo as women who support god>church>man>wife>child>dog buy into a hierarchy lead by a man; it's not only men who do so.
And yes, I think there is a move towards a church-state in the USA (with the caveat ... as long as my church gets to set the rules). Just as ethnic-americans became White, I think there's this notion of a quasi-christian Church of America out there.
This came in a little late, judging had begun and first place had already been awarded, deadline, 9-14 at midnight. But the quality of your work has not gone unnoticed. I can taste the smoke in my bite of your pie. I wish it had come in sooner, this is a sure contender. Nice work
