I think that we received a notice a while back, that ours increased. My husband searched and searched and searched the file cabinet where he likes to keep everything orderly and in its place. We never found the contract. After finally reaching them, they told us that they do not send a paper contract...it would have been through email.

Sure enough...after much searching through emails that are rarely used, we found it. At this point, my husband had lost his patience (as he does with this type of thing), said that they were incompetent, and quickly changed companies...sigh.

I pray that your experience turns out better.

I wouldn't claim giftedness...by any means. Of course, nor am I as busy as you are, at least over the summer. Being a teacher, I am out for the summer, and reading and writing are my only true hobbies. Well, and gardening, but aside from a flower garden, we have not taken on anything grander in a couple of years.

However...one of my greatest struggles to blogging at all, much less daily, has been (what I thought was) a need to have something of import to share. What I have discovered though, is that if I just sit down and start typing, even if it is about having nothing to write about, it soon turns into a blog that I am satisfied with, if no one else.

I have been known to sit in front of my laptop, whiling away the hours, fretting over what to blog about. Well...I ended that time!wasting endeavor, and just began to write.

Oh, dear! Yes, that is a problem to address immediately. I will keep good thoughts that your treatment did the job. I wouldn't want to have to spend $1900 either. Very good point about termites eating plastic instead. That would be so much better!

Very creative story for the prompt. I could picture the garden and the pieces in my mind. Nice touch with the snickering at the end, as if it was all a game to the statues. Your story made me think of the chess game in the Harry Potter movie and also the movie Toy Story.

Thanks for your comments. I agree, I believe taste and smell are closely connected. We catch a smell of french fries, fried chicken, what happens - we salivate; at least I do. Also, as I think more on it, seeing a picture of a ice cream cone makes me want to go get one, especially on a hot day.

Interesting reflections - and beautiful descriptions of all the things you love seeing. I think losing your sense of smell would also affect your sense of taste, unfortunately, as they are so closely interlinked.

I'm with you on the not wanting to lose my sense of sight. I'm such a visual person, that would be terrible. I love music, movies, good food, etc. This would be a really tough call.

It IS so hard to determine which doctor should one listen to. I'm going through that very issue now regarding my subsequent treatment after cancer surgery with my Oncologist from the VA, an Oncologist from the University of Missouri who completed the surgery, and an Oncologist from the University of Kansas Cancer Center, all of whom have opinions regarding any on-going treatment. Who to believe?

Meanwhile, time passes by.

I pray your husband's doctors get on the same sheet.

I go to market on Saturdays, and usually stop in M-F at the Senior Center. Wednesdays is 10% off at the grocery store. I tend to do my washing every two weeks on a Sunday or Monday. I watch Thai programs on youtube. I write something every day. When I had a garden I would be working in it until I couldn't see.

My life is "smaller" these days. I consider getting out of bed "productive".

Scared and Ready all in One!

I have two test coming up next week (Aug 31, Sept 3). I am both exciting about getting it done and the other half of me is scared as to what might be found. It involved my colon so I imagine you could guess the tests. In any case, I am ready.

I have put up with some very inconveniences, very little pain, more embarrassment over the years. But, it has gotten worse and more often. This interference in my life has made life less fun, and very unpredictable. I am hoping for some answers when this is all over.

Having IBS (Irritable bowel syndrome) does not allow for much spontaneity in my life. I have to plan everything around my bathroom habits.

Crazy, while typing this, I got a message from my doctor's office that one of my appointments was canceled because they did not get the approval back from my primary care's office. WTF!!!

I should send them a bill for putting me through more stress! I have rescheduled but now need to wait another week for that test.

Writing Season

I've signed up for the Writing Season but a little scared that I won't be able to hit my mark every day. I struggle in trying to blog every day. But I will take it one day at a time and try to target for a 30 day complete of posting every day. How many words, I have no idea and I am not even sure how to approach my first day. I've prayed about it and feel that I will get some guidance in its subject matter.

Where is time going?

Today is August 6, 2026. I want to know where July went? I feel that time is moving faster. Is it possible? The way I look at it is, the seconds are moving faster. No, I can't prove it but I truly believe time is moving faster.

How, maybe God is ready to send His beloved son back to us? No, I don't really feel that He would need to adjust the clock or its function, but for many of us, it seems time is slipping away much faster.

When I was a kid, I never gave time much thought. I just wanted to get up, get breakfast and go play. When it got dark, I knew it was time to be home. Some days seem real short, others real long.

What do you think? Is time moving faster?

Forestry Safety

I use to live in California. I was born there. Recently, I was watching a program about logging. The issue of maintaining the forests and the importance of it got me going. I think of the fires that occur each year and the losses people face. Yes, some fires cannot be prevented but maintaining the forests helps to cut down on the disasters that occur. It seems common since that if you keep the area of your property clean, you have a better chance of saving your property in case of any fires that start near your property. This is true in the forest.

The forestry department has a duty to maintain trees which include removing old growth, disease control and replacing fallen trees. However, they have been prevented from doing so due to constraints due to environmental influence. The forestry personnel cannot do their job sufficiently when restraints, such as clearing out old growth, is placed upon them trying to do their jobs. I don't understand the mentality of such a thinking.

Reinstated

Well, I got reinstated but with no real explanation or apology. These days it is the computer's fault. You would think that somewhere out in our big world that the computer just evolved on its own. It breaths, functions on its own, doesn't know how to say, "I am sorry that I shook your tree. But, in the event we don't get our money on time, we know how to chop your tree's limbs off." Enough said!
