My mind and my life are wonderous things ... as are yours, I'm sure. I have more slips of paper and pages of notebooks with musings and thoughts than I really know what to do with. Someone, actually several someones, have suggested I start a blog ... or a journal as a means of focusing some of this mental energy.
To be honest, I don't even know what the difference between a 'journal' and 'blog' is--or if there even is a difference. Read on, my friends, and you can judge for yourself whether it even matters.
And so....
I'm JACE. Yep ... that's me! And somewhere in all my writings my last name may be posted. But I'll just leave it at Jace for right now. I'm 70 years old and heading full tilt to 71. It's strange that while I'm going through some rather serious medical issues, I still consider myself to be in the prime of my life--pretty good shape physically AND mentally, though I don't run for competition anymore . I love to ... dang, if I put this stuff here, I won't have anything for my blog.
Guess you just have to be patient until such stuff leaks out. Perhaps 2025, having embraced my retirement, will see more participation in my journaling efforts.
Enjoy your Vacation! Sounds like a Winter Wonderland! Sad to say, but growing up in NH, I never did learn to Ski. I went skiing once in Germany and I thought it was fun once I got the hang of it. I'm old now so I'll pass on any more skiing lessons. I'll go snow tubing though. That's fun. No snow tube is gonna top my 57 year old ASS from tubing. But if I'm not snow tubing, I'll be at the brew pubs right there with you. I enjoy a good micro brew!
I did find that the 8900 ft elevation for Crested Butte made a difference for my breathing. Yep, I discovered the same thing while home in Albuquerque for the Balloon Fiesta in October. My niece let me stay with her, so that was good, saved me hotel points/money. She lives about a half-mile from where we lived while I was attending High School, so I was very familiar with the area. Or was, because it's changed a lot in the last 53 years. Friday we went to Sandia Peak, elevation about 10,500 feet. That's when I really noticed the elevation difference. I'd love to join you for a brew/coffee, but I'm still in Illinois. Enjoy your vacation!
Enjoy your time with family in CO. I had the opposite visit whereas my daughter and her hubby recently moved from CO to the west coast of FL. That's only a 3 hour ride to my east coast of Fl. We enjoyed Christmas together. No snow worries. No gas worries... just a good time on Christmas.
I'm sure you'll enjoy the coffee shop. That's where I would be found! No skiing for me. I'm too much of a klutz!
If your Corolla is anything like my Prius, the anti-skid should provide some backup if you do encounter snow showers. I still take it easy, but I know that Toyota cars can reasonably handle snow driving.
Elisa, Snowman Stik - I do envy your snow. Saw the news talking about the snow at the Minneapolis airport. We just don't seem to get what the weatherman promises here along the I-44 corridor.
