NO more humor... just more tragic, sad, sick, twisted goings ons - Sorry
Forget the following:

"Laugh and the world laughs with you; cry and you cry alone"
by Ella Wheeler Wilcox (1855– ?)

Source: John Bartlett (1820–1905). Familiar Quotations, 10th ed. 1919.

THE ONLY THING NECESSARY FOR THE TRIUMPH OF EVIL IS FOR GOOD MEN TO DO NOTHING.
-Edmund Burke

-

LEARN TO DO GOOD; SEEK JUSTICE, REBUKE THE OPPRESSOR; DEFEND THE FATHERLESS, PLEAD FOR THE WIDOW.
-Isaiah 1:17

-

TEACH THIS TRIPLE TRUTH TO ALL: A GENEROUS HEART, KIND SPEECH, AND A LIFE OF SERVICE AND COMPASSION ARE THE THINGS WHICH RENEW HUMANITY.
-Buddha

-

Congress shall make no law respecting an established religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. - Bill of Rights, March 4, 1789

It is quite possible that some entries may be so sad, sick, twisted, or troubling the only response is to laugh, which as I stated in the beginning of this items description, "Laugh and the world laughs with you..."

I've heard it said, "the ability to laugh keeps a person young."

*Star**Star**Star*

It's a sick and troubling world WE THE PEOPLE are living in today, and the people that we've always looked to to make it better, just aren't*Exclaim*

A Storm Approaches
August 27, 2006 at 10:58am
Well here we go... My daughter has been hauling her stuff here to my house since yesterday. My son's, Ray and Billy are thinking about taking a road trip to Kansas to see their brother Jon-Ray (MY SOLDIER BOY)... And this is just the first storm of the current Hurricane season... damn. I propose that we switch summers off with hurricane season... we could be the Storm Birds... like the Snow Birds that flock to Florida during the winter months. I'm still digesting the content in the following two articles. The comments/discussions are just as interesting - some just as alarming. Given the fact that America is at WAR, our current hostile political situations here and abroad, not to mention America's growing problem with oil, or rather the lack of it... and let's not forget about the the continual rise in the prices of a barrel of oil and a gallon of gas... I Wish I'd Never Started Smoking
August 20, 2006 at 12:01pm
When I started smoking nobody ever talked about the even the least of the problem with smoking - "It stinks." There were no health warnings printed on cigarette packaging. Cigarette smoking was considered the cool thing to do. By the time all the health crusaders started all the hullabaloo over cigarette smoking, I was totally addicted - TOTALLY. Iraq's Agent Orange: Depleted Uranium

I remember Vietnam War Veterans comming home and then getting sick, and sicker still. How many died not even knowing what made them sick... and now in Iraq our American soldiers, our American sons and daughters, are dealing with the same hard-nosed stupidity from the sprawling bureaucracy of the Department of Veterans Affairs. When THINGS Become More Important than People

Hopefully you've read about the house that colasped in New York. When brick and mortar become more important than people and their relationships with family members it's sad and sick. But I'm thinking this is how too many marriages are ending. The following story is one of the saddest I've ever read! The following report demonstrates how broken the criminal justice system is. Broken because the people are so entrenched in the safety and security of their paychecks - they no longer do their job. Executive Power: Presidential Abuse
June 28, 2006 at 9:32am
Bush wants line item veto. Bush issues signing statements whenever he signs a bill into law. Bush's signing statements generally mean the rule of law does not apply to him and his Executive Powers. Bush wanted to be a war time President, in my not so humble opinion. Being a war time president affords a president more power - Bush's entire reign as President has been about POWER AND CONTROL. Office spouse or office lesbian?

A READERS COMMENT: So, if all my work spouses have been women, does that make me an office lesbian? Or, if I have both male and female office spouses - concurrently - is it an orgy or polygamy? I do think it's unfortunate that many assume men and women can't be platonic friends. They certainly can be. We real spouses know that, and aren't threatened by it. If we have reason to feel threatened, we have far deeper problems in our marriages than worrying about our spouses... [Read more]
