Writing challenge
Create a character who embodies the following quote:

"How few there are who have courage enough to own their faults, or resolution enough to mend them."
Benjamin Franklin

I'm writing a novel with a character who does exactly this. His name is Samson and he was a slave and then owned a restaurant but had a son with a white woman that he never acknowledged. The son grows up to be an abusive man and he ends up blaming his denial of his love for the mother and his unwillingness to own up to the situation for the son's behavior.
