It's not necessarily Americans who use Writing com. but I'm sure there are a lot of Americans here, so I'll let them know. I wrote about it in my blog,Kaori-Yumesaki's Blog. I have something to thank the Americans for. It is for invented the fashion of Jeans and T-shirts. I love this casual fashion. Of course, I like to dress up in dressier and more expensive clothes, but what else is so functional and clean in everyday life? We know that Jeans were originally made for work wear. But nowadays there are some very stylish designs on the market, and you can coordinate them with whatever you want to wear on top. They are durable and can be washed many times, and best of all, even the colour fading can be enjoyed, which is in keeping with the Japanese motto of wabi-sabi. The best of both worlds. The only problem is that Jeans are a bit unsuitable for the humid Japanese climate. LOL! But even with that, it’s an attractive fashion. Thank you, U.S.A.!
My short science fiction novel [Oxygen Cafe] has been completed. I've already received some great reviews, but I hope you'll read it too and feel free to give me any feedback. https://www.writing.com/main/view_item/item_id/2264208-Oxygen-Cafe-1
Happy New Year! Japan has already welcomed the New Year!
It’s neat thinking about the time zones, the international date line and how they work. I’ve wondered for years why they rotate the clocks around Greenwich and the date in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. I guess it was because they never wanted you to exist on two different dates simultaneously. In 1962 while in the navy the ship I was stationed seaboard crossed the international date line on a return from the Philippines and Japan to Hawaii. It was on my birthday turning 20. I had to hide for 2 days to escape the squad that tortured sailors on their birthdays at sea. Stupid practice. They still wouldn’t serve me beer when we got to Hawaii even though I told them I’d had 2 birthdays so I was really 21. No one believed me.
Fortunately, the driveway was plowed and the weather was fine earlier, so I enjoyed the walk to the convenience store. It's windy and the streets are icy so I have to be careful, but I love walking in the snow on a sunny day ❤ It's beautiful to see the whole city all white.
新年おめでとうございます!
