I got a review for one of my pieces yesterday, "A Childhood Memory, that I thought I might share. While it was more concise than some of the other reviews I've received for this piece, it felt the most rewarding to read. I have taken the liberty to embolden the compliments from this review that I appreciated the most.

From jaya :

"A very rare and beautiful memory nicely described and recorded. We seldom see such acts of consideration on the part of older brother to his younger sibling.

The routine on a cold winter day is brought to our mind's eye with clear and necessary description. No more, no less. Brevity lends curiosity to the reader of the story.

I wonder if it is general practice in your parts for the laundromat person to let you sit at her place and attend to homework. Very kind on her part.

Finally, both characters are well shown and the reader would come to his or her own conclusions regarding their personalities.

With an appropriate prose style and neat transformation from one point to another, this story draws the reader into its very core.

Write on!"

Thank you, jaya , as well as all others who have reviewed my work,

My one-year anniversary of being on WdC is coming up, and I just wanted to say thank you, so much, to everyone who has been reading my poetry and other writings, especially "How Things Were, my first upload here on WdC. I've never expected my writing to have even been read, let alone get nearly 200 views and a 4.6 average rating, and the feedback I've gotten and the connections I've made with people through it have been absolutely amazing. My other pieces have slowly been climbing up there too, and I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has left a review for one of my writings, or even just read them, and for all of the support that this community has given me.

It's such a great community here, isn't it?
This site is so dear to my heart that I've hung around for 16 years! *Bigsmile*
HAPPY ALMOST 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!! *Hug* It's great having you here and congrats on being such a good writer.

It's a writing site. I should probably work on that. *Laugh*

Anyway, well done! Keep it up!
I've uploaded two new items as of recently, and I reorganized all of the items in my portfolio into folders as well. I hope y'all enjoy them!

Awesome! I really need to do that at some point... *RollEyes* But if it's not me, I'm glad SOMEONE is tidying up their port! *Bigsmile*

I have uploaded the rough drafting of my life story, titled "Confessions of a Broken Soul." I will warn that this story does get explicit, so I would not suggest it for the faint of heart. I would also ask that readers be sensitive and confidential about it, as it was hard to talk about the information in this book, much less to publish it...

Any and all feedback will be appreciated. I hope those of you who read it, enjoy it...

Also, as a side note, be sure to read it in the reverse order of the chapters, starting with "First Steps." Chapter order got screwy. *Irritated*

Some of y'all have read my store "A Childhood Memory, a story about the last vivid memory of my childhood. However, I was thinking about starting a work composed of the fragments of what I remember of my entire life so far. I think it would be interesting to try to write. What do y'all think?

Interesting idea. So often we only have pieces of memory, but that doesn't invalidate the memory or it as a source of writing. I like it. *Smile*

I have also uploaded a new item that I have written. It is to go along with "SCP-5048 - Whispers in the Wind. This "addendum" will give a look into the ordeals that Foundation personnel go through when first containing SCPs. Make sure to read the original SCP entry either prior or after reading. *Wink*

I just uploaded part of a story I had written 6 years ago. Now, I was only 12 at the time, and my writing wasn't what it is now, so keep that in mind if you decide to read it. The whole story is about 15,200 words, and spans 11 chapters. However, as I am only using a free account (broke, can't afford to upgrade), I was only able to upload the first 5 chapters (8,161 words or 43,394 characters) before running out of upload space. I will only keep this uploaded temporarily, so if you're interested, read while it's still available.

Whether or not I upload the rest of this story will be determined the kind of feedback I get about this first part.

YOU WROTE OVER 15k WORDS WHEN YOU WERE 12?!? *Shock2* I am SUPER IMPRESSED!

I would recommend you put at the top that you wrote it when you were 12 so folks don't give it a bad rating thinking it's written by an adult. *Wink* Are you planning to rework it and improve it?
Ugh! I have a new essay due for my English class, as well as a script, which there has been no info given as to how to write. I have to write a 1500 word fictional narrative (doesn't sound like a lot, but I tend to struggle). I already have an idea of what I'm going to write, but it's taking my focus away from what I've already been working on (rewriting "Void"). As for the script, I got nothin'.

And with the end of the semester coming up, I'm expected to do more work and studying than ever. I've been assigned projects, essays, etc. and only given until January 8th to complete them all. Along with a lot of company visiting for Christmas Break, that gives me little to no time at all to complete all 7 of my courses in time for EOC exams on January 9th.

I may not upload, respond, or post for some time.

Thanks for all the support,
-Austyn Dewaele

Good luck! I have faith in you!
I started working on my rewriting of Void, but progress is coming along a lot slower than I anticipated. I should have chapter 1, or at least most of chapter 1, complete by the end of the month. Until then, I will keep it off of WDC (Don't want anybody peekin' at it while it's still a WIP).

I'd also like to say that I looked back at my older works, both on WDC and stashed in my Google Drive, and I'm still astonished at how well my only poem has done. I have never been good at poetry, I will admit that, but this one poem that I have written seems be doing really well. I never expected it to move people as much as it did, nor did I expect to get the reviews, ratings, and support that I have gotten along with it. Thank you all so much!

I slightly edited both of my SCP entries to make them more similar to those found on the actual SCP Foundation website. For those of you who don't know, the SCP Foundation is a fictional organization tasked with the containment and study of supernatural entities, phenomena, and objects that often defy natural law or pose a threat to humanity. There are currently over 4,000 SCP entries in their database. My SCP entries are linked below:

Awesome! Congratulations!
I managed to log into one of my old Google accounts from a couple years ago. I started rummaging through the Google Docs for that account and, lo and behold, I found one of my first attempts at writing a full-length story. I had originally written this a few years ago on paper, but had decided to rewrite on computer to make it easier to continue. I only got about 16,000 words in before I quit writing it. Over the course of my story writing, the quality of the work had deteriorated to the point where the plot moved too fast and I could barely make sense of my own writing. It sorta made me think about where I was going to take my rewriting of Void, and if the same thing was just going to happen all over again...

That is so cool that you found such an old story! Are you ever going to work on it again? I hope it inspires you with Void. *Wink*
Again, the writing deteriorated after a while to the point where even I couldn't keep up with the plot. To be honest, I doubt I would know what to do if I had decided to work on it again. There's just so much wrong with it...
I just uploaded a new SCP entry! I thought I'd upload this while I figure out where I want to start my rewriting of Void.

Can someone with access to the "Audio" item crease a static sound that I can use in one of my writings? It would be greatly appreciated.
