I am always a sucker for children's stories. You didn't disappoint! Scruffy is a dog kids can easily relate to and visualize. The vocabulary is spot on for children's literature.
There are a couple of sentence structure, comma problems; however, they didn't interfer with the story.
Thanks for making me smile and bringing Scruffy home safely.
This is a sweet sentiment. Sometimes imperfection is mich easier to love than perfection. I found myself wishing the poem was longer but I suppose that is a good thing. I saw no errors and that is a wonderful thing. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed it.
This is quite insightful. The first stanza really grabbed me. The message of the second stanza was strong, but I did have a littke trouble finding the rhythm in it. You might try reading it aloud, or it just might be me. Nice job. I enjoyed it.
Some really outstanding poetic devices, especially alliteration. The vocabulary is superb. There is nothing trite in this poem. I read it several times and picked up on various meanings each time. Great insight.
Wow...in just a few words you were able to stir a multitude of emotions in me. The imagery is raw and so real. I love the last stanza. It does not take away the emptiness, but yet finishes in a hopeful, peaceful aura. Beautiful job.

I love the crispness of the imagery in this poem. Through it we get capitivated in the girl's senses and love of the beach.
The rhythm of this free verse is smooth and relaxing. For just a moment I was at the beach instead of sweating in the humidity of an Oklahoma summer. ☺
We need more good deeds in this world. I love that you love to write. I teach 6th grade English. You are doing a wonderful job. Keep working to expand on details.
I love the conclusion. Those lines really hit the nail on the head.
I think most people can relate to this in some way or another whether it be romance, coworker, family, etc. It is hard to know if what you see and wish to believe is real.
The imagery is wonderful. Somehow through your voice I saw myself in the scene.
The following really made my mind come to life:
Evaluating my day as my fingers play
The parts of puppets~~mini-windows of my soul,
Also I found myself reading the line over and over about goals being affected today. I like it. So often goals are seen as accomplished or not, but asking this question helps analyze progress.
It is difficult to review a bio, because it is factual and to the point. I clicked on it because sometimes it helps me understand the author's approach to writing. But more honestly, I love to see the different types of people who are drawn to writing. I am a teacher though my degree is in psychology. Life takes funny turns. Thanks for sharing some background.
In the conclusion you leave the reader feeling hopeful. Without blatantly saying it you help us realize being alone is a fact where loneliness is a choice.
Your description especially at the beginning really hooks the reader. Like always I can sense your passion for life, love, and realism.
When you find your mystery woman I hope she likes your best friend too!
This is well-written and touching. Thank you for exposing me to a topic that isn't talked about enough.
Too often, we only remember to say the thank you's on holidays, but if we aren't willing to reach out a hand then they are hollow words falling on men and women that need and deserve much more.
I almost believe that we hear so much about the mental problems are service men face upon returning that some view them as not having anything left to give which is so untrue.
Thank you so much for making me 'think' tonight. I don't think I will forget this issue - it needs to be addressed.
These results are really interesting and revealing. I'm shocked that more people consider themselves a 1 rather than a 5.
This was a great idea. I'm not suggesting any changes; I like it as it is. I do find myself wondering the average age of the pollers in each category. It's thought provoking. I'm sure in my youth I would have given myself 5 stars for aren't we all perfect and invincible then? lol.
I cannot think of a more beautiful gift to a loved one. I teared up at the evidence of the love you feel for her.
Initially, I chose this because of 'dance' in the title. What an amazing dance of love and life you are sharing with the music changing yet never-ending.
. When you smile at me I melt
I know that I am loved and favored
My confidence soars as you
Touch me, soothingly, rapturously.
The above stanza made me close my eyes with imagery of a love so grand and blessed. Knowing without doubt or question that you are loved is a feeling that I believe is rare, and can only truly exist if it is appreciated. Which you obviously do.
This is insightful, thought-provoking, and beautifully written. I think so many times it is easy to get swept up in the parade of what the media thinks we should feel. For instance, the recent attention about the medical treatment, or lack there of, for veterans. But by the time we start feeling passionate about it, the media drops it for another attention-grabbing headline. Sadly, we live in a world now of short attention span and wanting immediate response.
Thank you for making me think as well as a writing in a way that nothing distracted my attention.
I think it is great that you are keeping account of your feelings at important times in life. It will be a great legacy to others. School and juggling other things is never easy but it sounds like you have a handle on it..thanks for sharing.
