After reading your work, My impressions are these:You pulled me in with this story.

My Favorite Part(s)I like how the story began with Patricia's point of view. I wasn't a fan of her being abandoned, but at the same time, I could empathize with Bridget's despair.
I also was getting agitated with the constant ringing of the doorbell, but the ending made it worth it - Hugh came home! I am betting that if you were to continue this story, that Patricia would have "bowled him over" in her excitement. I saw that you won for your entry in the calendar contest for March.

Final Thoughts:I am glad that I got to look through some of your writings. I look forward to reading and reviewing more of your work in the future. Happy WdC Anniversary, again.

This is a short poem about fate's cruelty. The begging of one to another to remember their love. It seems the other has forgotten or doesn't want to remember.

My Favorite Part(s)It doesn't say who is whom in your story, for it seems it could be either party that is the beggar, and the other the would-be recipient of that longing. The pain of the last lines is visceral. To rob someone of any hope is indeed cruel.

This is a sad story written in poetry form. I can see the young lovers enjoying their time together. Then the "call to arms" is answered. He prays that she not hold it against him, but he misses her terribly and thinks of her often.

My Favorite Part(s)The young knight's message is one of farewell, and a prayer that she visit where he lays in tranquility. His words remind her that he died doing as he was bid - for King, Country, and his "English rose". I love poetry, and this flows smoothly and paints a bittersweet picture.

After reading your work, My impressions are these:I am a mythology buff, and enjoy reading stories based on mythology. I was intrigued by the title "Queen of Shades" and it being about Persephone.

My Favorite Part(s)I liked the way you've written this story. How Demeter ended up losing Persephone to Hades, after forbidding her being with Apollo. I also liked the way Persephone actually came to care for Hades, and was glad of being "tricked" into eating the pomegranate seeds. I could see the story being played out in my mind's eye as I read it.

Happy WdC Anniversary! I am reviewing your last entry of your blog The Manic Attack - "My personal shift in consciousness". I am a fan of blogging myself, so I was interested to see something from your point of view in blog form.

After reading your work, My impressions are these:I see that you've written this post in response to a media prompt challenge.
You address two different topics - The first being insomnia/hypersomnia. I learned something new with this. I didn't know that circadian rhythms could try to make a 25 or even 30 hour cycle. And here I just thought I was mixing up my own days and nights! I'm glad you seem to be having some success with your sleep cycle. I wish you well.

The other topic is the focus on money rather than "stars". It is true that money cannot buy happiness. It helps keep the bills paid, true - but our lives are worth so much more than a dollar amount. You make a valid point here.

I am glad that I took the time to read this, and I'm excited to read more of your posts. I've added you (and your blog) to my "faves" list.

My First Impression:I can relate to this poem - there have been many a times I've fallen asleep and was startled back awake when the book fell out of my hand.

After reading your work, My impressions are these:Again, you got me. I had to read this a couple of times. At first I thought it was about death, then I thought, break-up. It wasn't until the last line, that it was about lost memories.

My Favorite Part(s)I love poetry, and this one has a good cadence to it. "I swear someone laughted and chuckled with glee" has a sinister sound to it.

Final thoughts: I hope that this isn't something you are grappling with all of the time - that would be so frightening. But I can sympathize with forgetting things now and again. It drives me nuts. Thank you for sharing.

This reminds me of the "twigs" that my son and daughter brought to my dad from school for Arbor Day. He got a blue spruce and another pine tree. He planted them, and over the years they've gotten so big.

Your poem gave me a smile as I thought about those long ago days.

I remember my oldest daughter when she was younger, of course - She had a Beauty and the Beast comforter set (in pinks and yellows) and she also had about 5 sets of the Disney Princess/Prince sets when they were big (1990s anyone?)

My First Impression: I like the way you've laid out the argument for prayer and meditation being more alike than different. My guess is the focus is different - inward vs. "higher power".

My First Impression:This chapter held my attention all the way through. I could see the scenes in my mind's eye.

My Favorite Part:Emily is a wonderful and precocious little girl. She is just perfect. Self absorbed just as a little girl is...learning as she goes, and copying mannerisms from her mom. She is delightful. Her innocence shows even at the end; where she still wants to see the King, unaware of what has happened to her dad.

My First Impression:Wow! This was a hard read for me. When I think of the war in the Ukraine, I have a hard time picturing it. This work brought it home. The dialogue, the phrasing and even the cursing made it come alive. The picture of the little girl made me cry. This war seems so unnecessary.

My Favorite Part:That Oleksander came out of this skirmish alive. He seemed a little shocked at the body of whom he considered the enemy. I like how he thought that in another life, they could have actually been friends. It adds to the realism and the craziness that war brings.

My Suggestions/Final Thoughts:The ending seemed to be a little bit of a cliff-hanger. It also seemed a little rushed. Was this intentional? Will you be expanding this story? I hope you do well in the contest you are entering.
