"Lucky For Some. ('55 words' contest.)" - Is a clever little story. First created September 14th, 2008 for a 55 Word Contest (These' are quite hard to do) - and just 4 lines long. It reminds me of another contest, 50 Words Exactly with a similar example: "The Handkerchief" - and subject! Great minds think alike! Happy 13th Anniversary!
"Mayfly" by Beholden written in September 2019 with 24 Syllables in a
3-7-6-8 sequence. Just four lines long - the writer had to remove it from their port to make space! Now revived for our pleasure! Happy Second Year Anniversary at WDC!
"They Gave To All..." by LegendaryMask❤️ created: May 13th, 2021 is a Free Verse poem written for not only family but the community at large and is a heart-felt tribute commemorating 'Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and even D-Day'. I think that, given that a reader may have expectations after noting the genre, that some spacing - representing "thought and direction changes" might make this piece work better. As it it, I had to mentally separate the ideas, myself.

No, not really ... it IS about a toaster, of which a married couple has to choose - from several options - ordinarily a recipe for divorce, I'd say... but the writer turns it all into a virtue with a winning finale!
Using the prompt to create an exciting story under 300 words. The genre states that it is 'action;adventure' ... is there a 'suspense' category? I thought that the story could easily have been longer - there was plenty of material to work with. Well done!

Boy! Do I know about Toothache! - it shouldn't have been funny - but I found that there were definitely moments, which were LOL Funny. The only thing that was lacking was the 'pace on the page'... I would set it out with more interesting WDC text options and some more separations between paragraphs for reading appeal. Never mind all that - it was a great story!

"Snowbird" written by Anniversary Member, toni is a Free Verse Poem of lovliness ~ reminiscent of "The Little Match Girl" which is a literary fairy tale by Danish poet and author Hans Christian Andersen.
I say this, because, like the bird in this poem, the little match girl was caught in snow too. This poem may be wistful but it has gravitas.
A paradox is a rhetorical device or a self-contradictory statement that can actually be true. So, tuesday appears to have written something which, for some reason - also reminds me of Oscar Wilde - who was famous for short, pithy Bon Mots such as:

This short story ends before a conclusion - a bit like a book precis - leaving the reader wanting more!
I especially liked the witty lines which popped up in the story
Dan Maple was a Pig-Man Humanimal from the Deep South,...he was an uncharacteristically bad sport among Humanimals, always boasting and gloating, you could say he was even a bit of a ‘Ball Hog’.

"The Bird" by Ronski was given an Awardicon for this poem and it deserves one! An aa bb cc rhyming schema - 2 Stanzas.
I really liked all the descriptive words to describe the bird's plight - the whole poem tells a wonderful story. All the references to Anton's play 'The Seagull' and postcard art of Carl Rohrig, 1981 were interesting, too... I wasn't familiar with Carl Rohrig's postcard art - after looking it up, I can say that enjoyed it too.
"Marshmallows and Me" - BeHereBook has created the image displayed from a real trip: " Celebrating my arrival at the active lava flow, Kilauea, Hawaii" - and I think that I see her toasting marshmellows over the heat of the natural hot lava there! - Reminds me of Rotorua in New Zealand - Hell's Gate, for instance.

I thought that this was going to be a Science Fiction story, but no - simply inspirational, as the genre states. ... Wasn't it lucky that the lady of the house still lived there! I only know one person who hasn't moved in the 33 years I've known them. This was a lovely story, even though it was tinged with sadness.

A very nicely written vignette. I wondered if the creature was a spider at first, but when I re-read it, the creature was more clearly defined, of course. Nicely done, no errors detected.
To me, this short poem is written about Cricket, the game but the philosophy expressed in the precise and well-planned Ghazal could be - just that! A philosophy for living. In any case, I am in awe. It's hard to review someone who is 5 Stars and waaaaaay above my own ability, but this poem and its academic author deserve to be highlighted.

~ Happy 5th WDC Anniversary! ~ "The final End" was written by webscratched - and although they say English is not their first language, they have done a great job of describing final moments. Very engaging and hopeful, too! One likes to believe that the end would be just like this, actually.
Nicely set out on the page and the story was well paced, keeping this reader interested all the way to the end.

I loved the following lines While the writer says that they're describing women - I think that the inclusion of Young Women would be more accurate .. the older we get - the less inclined we are to succumb to whimsy... sadly.
