I loved all the descriptive scenes in this writer's piece. I was able to visualise this haven and I could easily see that such a place would always offer a refuge!
My favorite place is not a stream where the water laughs and giggles as it dances over the stones in its way. I go back to an old iron bunk bed that sits at the end of a row of beds much like it. Near the bed, hangs a rickety screen door, all that stands between the bed and the woods nearby.

This delightful Christmas item was written on the 15th December in the year 2007 by Mrs Claus aka ShiShad who we are joining in Celebrating their 14th Year at WDC!
I was frankly surprised at the current rating, because it really is good! Telling a delightful story that I would be happy to tell year after year to nephews, nieces and grandchildren - it rivals the traditional 'The Night Before Christmas' for my money!

The writer can spell something I can't! Tyrannosuarus I always have trouble with the amount of letters and characters! A great adventure story for children which would be fun to do graphics for!
What an entertaining verse from the POV of the Turkey, I presume. Well planned with contiguous sequencing to tell a fun story. Well done, I really enjoyed the clever wording.

A poem of hope and perhaps, even the promise of hopes fulfilled - it doesn't have a technical rhyming schema but when said aloud, does have a rhythmic resonance and flow.
"All I need is you" was written by Zara this February! The writer is also up for Congratulations for having been a member for 19 years at WDC!
As the writer says, it's a short poem - a romantic poem which expresses the sentiments of one who appears to be in the early part of a new relationship... ask that same person if that is how they feel 10 or 20 years later - It does achieve a nice, rhythmic 'sound' to it, by the way.
"Lie to Me" was written by Gwilym John in 2010 - and they have been a member since 2008 ~ Happy WDC Anniversary!
I like this poem - it appears that the writer is uncovering a sanctimonious person's 'apparent do-gooder' act. We've all been a victim of that! Each stanza has a regular 'format' i.e. I notice that the first line doesn't appear to rhyme with the rest' which appears to be an otherwise abab schema. Well, I relished every line as a tasty morsel!
"Random Kindness" was written not that long ago - 2021 Easter, I beleive - but it's a Christmas story written by flyfishercacher - Happy 5th WDC Anniversary!
I liked the good deed premise behind the actual deed but I'm just not sure about the judgement - as the writer comments, themselves... during Covid's sudden shutdowns - many people who were gainfully employed and had huge financial commitments were made 'instant' poor-people through no other fault than some random government handling/mishandling of a World Wide Event! The real catastrophe was the amount of bankruptsies from businesses which happened.
Still, one hundred dollars is a generous amount and would have been a great find for those people in the carpark, at that time of year!

This poem has 5 Stanzas and every second line rhymes to create something of an ode to rain. It has a distinct sing-song effect when said out loud and conjurs up a pretty scene of a rainy day.
"The Fates" is written by Newbie Rune and shows lots of promise!
What I enjoyed was the dramatic build of tension - the writer does this well and the end of the story completes the saga in an agreeable way i.e. the conclusion seems fitting given the direction the story has been leading the reader to imagine.. however there is a problem with the present and past tense within the story which needs to be addressed.

Overall, I think that this writer has a very good ability to tell a story!
"Susan Smiled" is written by Jacky for the "Daily Flash Fiction Challenge" and is a Winner! Of course! I always Jacky's stories! This is a 'feel good' sketch which uses the prompt and is of course, under 300 words. What is remarkable is the dexterity of the writer who can drum up a new story to each daily prompt - every day!
If I could have any skill or talent it would be to have the ability to draw like this! I love the simplicity and striking black and white drawing with a purple signature: Whiskerface. Beautiful!

I did really enjoy this tribute by the writer to her father - Dads can get a bad rap at times - but there are so many good things that they do for their families and are often the unsung heros of the family! I this tribute!
