"Gray Skies Over Portland Created on November 17th, 2007 by Sam N. Yago - deserves an airing! I think that this story is really good! Great writing infact - about two people who have a long and complex relationship. There is sadness amidst the routine and fading love... I thought it was beautiful, actually. The writer is an astute observer of human fallibility.

By the way ~ Happy 15th WDC Anniversary

Review of The Carousel Ride
Rated: E | (5.0)
"The Carousel Ride was created February 19th, 2014 by Merry Mumsy for The Writer's Cramp. A very entertaining vignette and quite moving - I felt that it was one of those stories which could easily be developed into a much longer piece. Anyway, for now - it is what it is - and I enjoyed all 287 words *Smile*

Happy 14th WDC Anniversary

Review of White Leaves
Rated: E | (5.0)
"White Leaves Created on August 11th, 2016 and modified on August 8th, 2017 by Angel - As promised, I'm back to review another item in this port.

*Apple* *Quill*Wow! This was a great story and I really enjoyed reading it! It must be en trende because I was just reading today (Australian Women's Weekly) - about female murders post World War 2 - women who poisoned 'inconvenient' husbands and relatives with rat poison! *Shock2*

*Apple* *Quill* The writer of this story wrote with great pace and story arc building to the finale which had a good twist in the tale. No typos or grammar errors - just a really enjoyable story!

Review of The Orange
Rated: ASR | (5.0)
"The Orange Created in May 30th, 2011 and modified inSeptember 12th, 2011 by ~SilverMoon~ Is a true story with names changed of course. I found it as good and compelling as any piece of imaginative fiction.

*Apple**Quill* Really lovely - it reminds me of a story from my own childhood with a similar kind of teacher. - Which confirms that jobs like teaching and nursing are vocational choices made by people with a gift.

Happy 12th WDC Anniversary!

Review of Grace
Rated: E | (5.0)
"Grace from their Port location: Tweet Me A Story ~ and created on February 9th, 2017 - four years ago! The accompanying picture is exquisite!

*Apple* *Quill* In a few words, the writer describes the fragmentation of a human mind ~ one who no longer remembers their beloved environment - or even the way home!

Angel has been a member at WDC for 15 years! And we celebrate this Anniversary! I will be back to look at more of the short stories and poems which fill their portfolio.

"I Don't Have The Sugar! was another story written for my favourite reading forum, the "Daily Flash Fiction Challenge and is written by drfluoxetine - a story I found funny at the moment, because I hate having my own BSL and BP done.. until recently I was pill-free and now, I want to run out of the Dr's surgery screaming "I don't have the Sugar!" myself, since they now find new things to prescribe for me these days.

*Apple* *CoffeeG* A nice, but mysterious little story, which had an undefined end and seemed like a vignette or excerpt from a larger story, but I really liked it... it created vivid imagery for me and therefore, stood out... perhaps reminding me of the TV show, Becker - a comedy series about a recalcitrant doctor *Think*

Review of It Sounded Good
Rated: E | (5.0)
"It Sounded Good - A winning entry to the "Daily Flash Fiction Challenge written by Sailor M is very funny! A really good story arc for under 300 words too! It's something my own brother and I might have tried to get away with - birds were a favourite culprit as well.

*PawPrints* *Magnify* No errors in spelling or grammar detected - A worthy read! *Star*

"Shortest, Greatest Novel Never written was created on November 10th, 2020 by Elby Wordsmith - and at first, I thought it was too short to review - but I read it and related so well to it, that I thought it was certainly worthy of a review. But, was it with intentional irony that the story does not further describe the life lived?

Anyway, it's time to Celebrate! 17 Years on WDC - Congratulations!

"A Desperate Contestant 502 words written a couple of years ago by The Sun SmilesOn Small Valley - This story is all *Heart* and I totally get the disappointment of a 'No Win'.

*Owl3* I loved the main protagonist and their journey to winner from loser. While some may say grammar is an issue in the story - if it were in a cultural journal it would surely win! So there is the moral of the story - there are many platforms to place a story! Write On! - And Happy WDC Anniversary!

"Balloon! Of Lights! Created: June 4th, 2005 and Modified: March 11th, 2007 - by Elisa the Bunny Stik this is a picture of what I think is an air-balloon? ... Or neon sign?... of Paris - is a terrificly clear shot done with a digital camera. I think it would make a great motif for a short story, too! (or a picture-prompt for flash fiction)

Well Done and Happy WDC Anniversary!

Review of Winter by my pond
Rated: E | (4.0)
"Winter by my pond was written by Walnussbaum in 2020 - the year many people turned to writing and contemplation as a way to spend time and make sense of something which had no precedent in recent history. In just three lines the little poem creates strong imagery and is lovely. ... It could easily be extended on - but I agree that it is still complete as it is.

Review of Undecided
Rated: 13+ | (4.0)
"Undecided by stacy was written a long time ago, but the writer is still a member and I think this little starter should be explored further. I got really interested and found that there were no new additions - that's a shame as there is loads of potential for even a complete piece of Flash Fiction.

Review of A Turn of Events
Rated: ASR | (4.5)

"A Turn of Events written by K.L Randolph a couple of years ago is a really good short story (790 words) - with a twist in the tale. Great pace and well written it would seem that the writer is quite experienced i.e. appears to be well planned with a good story arc.

Here is a fun story written for the "Daily Flash Fiction Challenge by the writer, Sailor M - called "Escape From the Witch ... reminds me too, of when I enjoyed scaring my younger brothers with impromtu performances of witches and monsters - which had my mother banging on the wall to tell me to stop it. *Laugh*

*Apple**Quill* All written in dialogue and with good pace and constant amusement - no spelling or grammar errors detected, either *ThumbsUpR* *Delight*

"The Disgruntled Planet is an amusing 'objector' poem from the Planet Pluto by Magoo - whose 14th Anniversary is around the corner! Happy Anniversary!

*Apple* *Quill* 8 Stanzas - mostly rhyming except for the first stanza in an AB AB sequence. I think it would look great with some graphics and kids would love it too!

"Paging Theodore. has been penned by Gimlet during November 2012! Happy 17th Anniversary at WDC! It was written for a Flash Fiction Contest and ends with a pun! Well done and very amusing! And Happy 17th Anniversary at WDC!

*Apple* *Quill* A good style of writing which is easy to read and understand - some writers are too esoteric and forget that their audience might not get the hang of their inner world.

"Some Times You Can’t Save Them by Paul - I remember being a 16 and a half year old trainee nurse and looking on a male patient of the same age. He was a 'vegetable' after a motor bike accident had given him an ABI - Acquired Brain Injury. Did I learn anything from this? No... I still took driving risks, myself and yet... I remember the scene vividly.

*Apple* *Quill* Sometimes the lessons are very subtle - and sometimes, they're not lessons at all Just an experience to develop our own empathy - to ensure we never lose the ability to commune with one and other.

*Apple* *Quill* Your story was compelling and it brought recollections of my own health care experiences... so nothing is wasted. Happy Anniversary, by the way!
