Brenpoet lives in the U.K. and writes these poems for her grandchildren - I bet they love them! *Heart* "Old Ma Nell Visits The Vet with its accompanying cartoon is perfect!

*Apple* *Quill* I love the way the poem/verse is set on the page and the font chosen too - a natural writer and a favourite with young kids - and old kids, like me! Happy Anniversary!

Review of Lost
Rated: 13+ | (4.0)
"Lost written by RatDog - Written as a chapter in "Pass the Write-Baton" - it says. I had to read the story a couple of times, because, by the time I got to the end of it -I thought Billy was the confused person who was talking in the 'first pereson' - at the start.

*Apple* *Quill*It seems not - so the writer has demonstrated the confusion most likely experienced by a fading mind, really well. There is empathy and kindness, so that the story has a strange warmth. Well done and Happy Anniversary!

Review of Sally
Rated: E | (5.0)
The Queen who normally presides over her Flash Fiction site "Daily Flash Fiction Challenge has some stories of her own! This one, for instance! "Sally - a Supernatural tale, well told!

*Apple* *Quill* Obeying her own rules - the story must be told under 300 words - and it starts with an unlikely Angel... anyone who has experienced the slightest inkling of déjà vu or ESP will relate to this story. Happy Anniversary to you, Arakun the Twisted Raccoon *Delight*

Review of Shimmy and Roscoe
Rated: E | (4.0)

"Shimmy and Roscoe A short story written in 2006 by Happy Adore♥ A realistic tale about having to walk the dog - unwilling and without enjoyment, something changes! Suddenly the dog and the walker are united in their quest for safety! A charming read with a satisfying ending!

*Type* just a little something ...

Shimmy just shook her head. She did not want to be out walking the him in this weather and was sure to let him know how she felt about it.

"The WDC Angel Army by founder, iKïyå§ama-House Targaryen - which is: 'Dedicated to promoting positivity, encouragement, and support to the WDC community.' Anyone can join - and there are plenty of people on Angel Patrol, too!

*Owl3* *Quill* It is Phenomenal! This Army pretty well underwrites WDC in the sense that it does a lot of the Grunt in looking out for Newbies, enabling Upgrades, an outreach program, reviews... just to name a few matters which this group reliably handles.

*Owl2* *Quill* The founder has created an absolutely AWESOME Forum, if that is the correct way to describe what this group consistently accomplishes! If ever you see a fundraiser that they're organising - Contribute ASAP! You never know *Delight* - You might even be the beneficiary of this Mighty Army's munificence!

Review of The Rose
Rated: 13+ | (5.0)
I have come to do some reviewing for a prize-winner - iKïyå§ama-House Targaryen - and I do love the story - I might say it reminds me of my own school days.

*FlowerR* The descriptions of the protagonist are original and engaging and I could have read a whole book on this character. I loved it! An Easy 5 Stars for a story written for the "Daily Flash Fiction Challenge - originally in 2006 & modified in 2015! *Shock2*

*FlowerY* No typing or grammar errors detected and it was nicely set out on the page so the reader could distinguish between settings/time/place.

A poem written 37 years ago by Newbie to WDC, Merina - who is now undertaking the writing of her family history. I am guessing that Merina new a little something about poetry: 4 Stanzas... every second line rhyms... not that that is the only accecptable formula for writing poetry by any means, but to a novice like me, it IS a recognizable format.

*Apple* *Quill* Written with the 'fresh eyes' and clean heart of youth - it was also written before the advent of personal computers so I wonder how the poem was saved and later retrieved.Reading it now, in 2021 [and I think 1983 was the poem's 'Birth Year' - I was only 26] I find the poem a very pleasant 'view' of a Country we all know as Canada. I can picture the young woman aboard the bus on her way somewhere and feeling that exhilaration of youth!

Review of Letter To GOD
Rated: E | (5.0)
"Letter To GOD written by Sum1 created nine years ago! - After I had a look around this writer's port, I decided to check out this 'Other' genre. Well, as I'm also fond of what I call 'Communing' with the Supreme Being from time to time, I wondered how someone else might be approaching this'.

*Owl2* *Quill* Well, the writer is somewhat more altruistic than I am... although I feel exactly the same way about the state of the planet, my communing is more 1:1 and also when I'm in an appreciating frame of mind.

*Owl2* *Quill* Now that I've read this, I wonder what the Supreme Being does think about the state of this planet. It's a bit of a mess! I wonder if He is already sorting out the 'Wheat from the Chaff' in terms of His sentient creation and is perhaps, carefully collecting the souls and keeping them aside, as they reach their mortal ending... leaving the rest behind... ashes to ashes dust to dust....

Review of The Three Jacks
Rated: E | (5.0)

It's past the season for Halloween but I couldn't resist a peek - I'm a sucker for Halloween stories and this tale, "The Three Jacks written by wdwilcox is a beaut!

*StarR**Wand* A great story for kids with a happy ending (which, for adult stories, is not obligatory - but I always prefer it). The font and spacing on the page were also appealing and the little picture accompanying the story is great, too!

Review of A Bee
Rated: E | (5.0)
"A Bee - which is a little poem about a Bumblebee I think... written by Newbie, T. Merle - with an accompanying picture, which is gorgeous.

My mother wrote about the Bumblebee too - I found a copy in her bible - which was supposed to (and did!) - serve as a little motivating story... yes, it is too big to fly - it defies the known laws of physics... but it flies anyway ... and makes a little' honey too!

*Apple* *Bee* This dear little poem reminded me of that story and I love to read it... I never tire of it! Well done! *Heart*

Review of Glitter

"Glitter by *Crown* NJ for DFF which stipulates that all entries must be under 300 words. This takes practice, beleive me!

*Witchlegs2**Wand* This story had more of a Bewitched flavour than a Christmas one ~ but Wow! Whatever rocks your boat! Gorgeous flower, that
Amarylis - I just looked it up.. what great imagination *Crown* NJ - that flower certainly lends itself to morphing into a redhead ... Oops! Story Spoiler Alert!

Review of Morning Feeling
Rated: E | (4.0)
"Morning Feeling is a short vignette, written by Newbie, Kirple . I think we can all identify with the sentiments expressed by Kirple - but sooner or later a special chore or even per chance some interesting appointment will get me leaping out of bed and reaching for the kettle to start off a brew of hot coffee... Well done! I was captivated by your descriptions of awakening to a new day.

"The Grammar Jungle by Newbie, Samson would be a great book for students of any age including LOTE students. It's easy to understand and gives very good examples of when and how to use simple grammar.

*Apple**Quill* No errors of spelling or grammar detected *Wink* and I thought it was a splendid idea!

Review of Who am I?
Rated: ASR | (3.5)
A story written for the "Daily Flash Fiction Challenge - by Odessa Molinari Written like a mini-short story - there is no particular twist to the tale. The story has pace and generates excitement and anticipation in the reader but the end is slightly anti-climatic. Needs a punchier conclusion I think. Still, the whole story and its effect was achieved in 231 words! Well done!

Review of Sketching Fruit
Rated: E | (5.0)
"Sketching Fruit written by Eric Margerum for a Flash Fiction contest in 2017! Happy 17th Anniversary at WDC!

*Apple**Quill* Ain't love Grand! Something as simple as all that?! Well, in this case, the means justifies the end and it's the journey not the destination. I enjoyed that background knowledge exhibitied of art and painting. The descriptions of the fruit and the shadows brought a dimension to the very short story, that it might not have otherwise enjoyed.

"scarf, light, button: 215 words written by Spring in my Sox for the Daily Flash Fiction Contest - using 3 prompts in just over 200 words - about a year ago! By the way ~ Happy 6th Anniversary at WDC!

*Owl3* *Quill* What a dark story, indeed! Thhe writer seems to have good knowledge of electrical current behaviour. I had to read it twice to see what was going on - that might be the hour, however, and not the complexity of the story. Well! I'm awake now! Very imaginative! Well done!

"Grandma's Final Gift was written by BScholl ~ A great little Flash Fiction story - and should've been listed in the mystery genre.

*Owl3* *Quill* A very pleasing story arc and a fantastic ending! Imaginative use of the given prompts, too. But there was a clever and important piece of writing using a play on words which was central to the story's success. I really enjoyed the story.

*Owl3* *Quill* Well written and descriptive.. the reader easily pictures what is happening and it had the feel of a Disney story. I'm so glad I discovered this little gem!

Review of The Abduction
Rated: E | (5.0)
"The Abduction was written by 🌕 HuntersMoon for "Daily Flash Fiction Challenge way back in 2013 - so it needs an airing! Happy 12th Year Anniversary at WDC by the way!

*Apple**Quill* That was good Flash Fiction with a SciFi sounding scenario which led to a very normal experience - very clever use of imagination - engendering imagination - in the reader!
