I thought this was a good poem, much better than the 3 star rating you received. I'm not sure if this is a poem, but it read like one...I put your write in a poem form....it's just a suggestion...disreguard this note if you dislike my thoughts....No matter, I loved reading it.
The ugly is what made me today.
I pray every day for God to let me find a way out of this maze.
No regrets, because the light has come today for me to face the truth.
No way will I settle for a truce, almost smart enough to outsmart my foolishness.
Only one way to heal my wounds is to face the bulls***!
Hiding behind the curtains and pretending like I am not hurting for so long.
My real self has been so wronged, buried behind years of pretend smiles, while my façade plays like a love song.
Great for the ears, but only my eyes’ know that it is a broken record struggling to stay intact.
So complicated but so simple, so real but so deceiving.
Seeing isn’t always so believing.
Listen to my heart beat, but nobody will know until I am ready to face my troubles.
Every now and again I run into a poem just like this one, brilliant! I loved it, every word was perfectly in place. A very nice flow and rythem. So well done, it's just a real pleasure to read. Very nice April. This might be my favorite of yours yet. You really put a lot of hard work into this well written gem of a poem. Nice flow without over kill. Love is a wonderful thing eh? When I write poems like that to my GF, she just floats. I think poems that use emotion are my favs, that and the short and sweet ones. This poem is lovely and dear to your heart, I hope dear to your husbands too. Thanks for sharing your write!
It's a nice poem and also a nice photograph of your son. I think most or all of America wants to see our troops come home. I of course can only imagine how a child would feel. This piece of art allows the reader to see past the writers soul. In one poem I wrote "My poems are my emotions at the end of a pen" You've done that here with your art work. It's a classic beautiful expression of talent. I really enjoyed it April, I read it several times over just so I could get the real feel of this wonderful write. This poem is a gem, I loved it. It is a easy read with depth. " like a tattered spire I'm barely worth the fight" is the meat of the poem...I read this poem several times and enjoyed every word...thank you for sharing.
