This reminds me of an old used book store. The store was located in a commercial area in downtown Brooklyn NY. For this story to bring back a vivid vision of that old storefront means it has served a purpose to me.
I remember drifting into that old store, dark, table after table filled with old books. Most with leather and simulated leather covers with the rich aroma that comes along with it. The creaking old wooden floor and a early twentieth century cash register on a glass counter. Unfortunately the last time I passed this address it was a fast food store.
Bings back a lot of good memories for me.
Thank You.
Bob
There is no way I can review this with any authority. In my personal opinion, as an an amateur, the work was professionally done. The story is well structured, flows well and is an easy read.
Being a Veteran and active member of the American Legion and the AmVets, I would really like to thank you for this effort. It plants a message that many Americans today do not seem to understand. 'Freedom is not Free' is an idea that many have forgotten.
Thank You for a poem well written.
